Sci-fi meets romance at this Chicago artist loft wedding
Leah and Amanda planned their wedding in just a few short months, but you’d never know it by it’s loveliness. They love sci-fi movies and have sci-fi posters all over their house which inspired the reception decor — from table numbers, guestbook, and florals in science beakers as bud vases. Leah likes crafting and designed all the personalized signage for the wedding. The food at reception was fall festive and included a s’mores bar!

We had guests from as far apart as Japan, California, and Germany. We tried to invoke all the things we loved in our wedding day — geeky nods to Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Jonathan Coulton, and the Lord of the Rings; the Obergefell v Hodges ruling for Jess's career and theatrical touches for mine. We asked our guests to wear 'whatever makes you feel pretty.' We then celebrated with ice cream, lawn games, and street food, and ended the evening with a ceilidh and session. Oh, and there was an owl, and llamas.
Two cuties from Sweden rocked their Manchester, UK wedding with epic florals
Sami and Philippa live in Sweden but wanted to get married in their favourite UK city of Manchester. They got ready in the same Lockhouse,a small cottage located next to the canal.
It was intimate, full of colorful flowers, two complementary white gowns, pale green details, and two brides clearly in love.
This Irish theatre wedding was Art Deco meets ’80s dance party meets musical theater
Laura and Eavan wanted a movie and musical-themed wedding so it made perfect sense to choose a newly renovated theatre as their venue. They had matching shoes and wooden rings made with quotes from Lord of the Rings inscribed. There’s also a nod to the film Labyrinth in the crystal ball photos. Don’t miss the Art Deco cake with cement icing, illustrated movie-themed table names, and the ’80s-inspired dance party that followed all of the fun…

One of my favorite combinations of styles is vivid color meets dark goth glam. And this dark & moody wedding inspiration has both in abundance. With florals ranging from purple scabiosa to black willows, a sweets table full of candy apples and a tower of macarons, and two brides rocking gold antlers, turquoise hair, and coordinating (but not matchy-matchy!) whie and gray gowns, it’s a gorgeous display with an eerie and chic vibe.
