Alicia & Brett’s quirky gluten-free DIY wedding journey
This pair’s wedding had nods to their journey toward each other and then together. Maps and globes, postcards from around the worlds, vintage suitcases and mini luggage made from Altoid tins, pedaling their getaway… the journey metaphor was everywhere. But that’s not all. Two words: Wedding Cowbells.
Jess & Martyn’s inclusive budget-friendly wedding
This pair wanted LEGO details, a cow cake, an amazing green dress, and a VW van that may or may not make it to its destination, and nobody was getting in the way of those awesome plans. There may have been some hesitation from the peanut gallery, but once everyone saw the results, it was hard to argue that a good time was in store. OH, and the bride’s bow and veil headpiece might just have made it to the top of my favorites list.
Karrie Lynn & Matt’s Star Wars meets the outdoors wedding
This week we’re celebrating our sci-fi-loving, fantasy-squeeing, and comic book-collecting couples. That’s right: it’s geek week! Star Wars, LEGO minifigs, lightsabers, awesome planet-themed centerpieces and a beautiful ugly cry face are just the beginning of this amazing Star Wars meets the outdoors wedding.
Geek themes collide: LEGO meets a Portal 2 cake
Tribesmaid Luckycharm had an awesomely geeky wedding with references to Tetris, Dungeons & Dragons, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and superheroes, so she’s totally a girl of my own heart. But one part that totally stands out is their Atlas and P-body LEGO cake toppers on a Portal 2 companion cube cake.
