When these two first started dating back in 2018, one of the things that they bonded over was their love for horror movies – specifically, ones most people would consider “bad.” So of course they had a horror movie wedding!
When you’re looking for Halloween wedding ideas, sometimes you want super understated and classy. You know, just a few subtle elements. But sometimes, you want FULL GHOULISH. If that’s you, this post is your horrific Halloween wedding idea wet dream.
Katrina and Catherine are wives, crafters, and costumers from Chicago. They take both decorating and relationship advice from Gomez and Morticia Addams (because who wouldn’t?!). When it comes to Halloween, there’s a lot to see: spooky decor, smoky unity ceremonies, horror movie themes, and dry ice on the dance floor. But my favorite part? The stunning Halloween wedding dresses we get to see every year. From a hint of purple to shades of goth to full-on costumes, Halloween wedding dresses run the gamut from sweet to scary and I LOVE IT.
Halloween fell on a Thursday and we fell in love with two separate venues so we decided to have it be a two-day event: the International Museum of Surgical Science was the perfect setting for our ceremony while we had our reception at Jacob Henry Mansion. The mansion matched our tastes exactly and was the perfect backdrop for an Autumn evening celebration. I lovingly refer to our wedding as a "haunted romance."
Tradition with an edge is the key at this fall wedding in Connecticut (with a bit of horror mixed in!)
I love it when a traditional wedding ends up having a bit of an edge. Vanessa and Daniel’s fall wedding in Connecticut had just that: a creative couple who rocked a gorgeous white gown and a black crushed velvet suit. The decor was all about fall coziness with leaf decor and table settings, pumpkins, and even a few Nightmare on Elm Street details. Look out for a cameo from Freddy’s glove used to cut the cake!
