“A few of our favorite things”: a nostalgic wedding down memory lane

The theme to our wedding was pretty simple: "these are a few of our favorite things." One of the things that made us fall for each other was our similar interests from childhood. We wanted our wedding to be full of nostalgiac whimsy and, most importantly, us. From the first day we were engaged we knew we wanted to get married at Childrens Fairyland in Oakland, a place near and dear to our hearts. A Victorian house wedding with retro glam style and sweet personal touches

Heather and Dan chose the perfect spot for their ceremony: the front porch of the Victorian house (built in 1888) where they live in California. They spent a ton of time getting the house ready for the ceremony and reception, and it paid off big time. Don’s miss Heather’s cotton candy retro hair, chic bouquet, mariachi band, and super duper cute look-alike cake topper!

They greeted guests for a tour and wine cave pizza party(!) at Benziger Family Winery. Then it was a break before the day-after wedding reception at Kenwood Inn and Spa. Multiple days, multiple groups, multiple reasons to LOVE this wedding.
Let’s see how it all played out (including the stunning fairy-lit patio reception!)…

Bring a date or go stag: just get yourself to this nostalgic PROM-THEMED wedding

It’s time to relive your high school years (or get a kick-ass REDO!) at this retro-tastic PROM-THEMED wedding. Just to whet your appetite: Christy and Stuart were crowned bride and groom, they wore sashes, roses, and crowns, and even rocked the “surprise” of it all. The guestbook was — you guessed it — a YEARBOOK. There was a balloon arch, prom poses at the photo booth station, a pink stretch limo, corsages, and it was all held in an actual high school gym (winner for wedding venue we hadn’t yet seen!).

Whether you remember your high school years fondly or not, you can’t deny the nostalgic magic of this throwback wedding in all its prom glory. Grab some punch, spike it with something good, and get ready to party, prom-style…
