Sarah & Davy’s love in the key of honky-tonk wedding
When the groom is a professional honkey-tonker, and you live near an amazing little dive called Max’s Place, it makes all the sense in the world to celebrate that honkey-tonk lifestyle with a cowboy and music-themed bash. The kick-ass outfits on the bands (yep, all of them) alone are worth a look.
Casual carnival madness and an interactive ring warming
Meg and Carrie hosted a casual carnival-themed wedding in Meg’s parent’s backyard in New Hampshire, proving that backyard weddings can be kick-ass for budget and scenery. (Seriously, the greenery is making me long for warmer weather!) Plus, they put a really fun spin on a ring warming ceremony by making it “interactive.” Read on to see how they did it.

Wider-calf boots for wedding days (and everydays!)
Ariel is letting me pinch-hit in shoe posts this week since I’ve been knee-deep in boots… and other puns. I’ve been looking at tall boots for wider calves! If you’re looking for kicky wedding boots but your athletic or plus-size calves make it hard to find boots that fit well, I can relate.
Low-heeled wedding boots
I’ve done posts about wedding boots before, but this time I wanted to take a slightly different tack… toward lower-heeled, more comfortable options.
I tried to limit my selections to heels with heights of less than three inches (…I didn’t always succeed), focusing on styles that had a hint of formality while still being as loud and funky as I always like to feature. I’ve got everything here from uber-femme brocaded floral booties all the way to androngynous glittered ankle boots to ass-stomping shit-kickers.
