Monday Montage: When nature calls
As usual, my mind has been blown by all of the fantastic photos in the Offbeat Bride Flickr pool. Seriously, people: my head might explode soon from all of your awesome-ness. In honor of Russian New Year’s (the week between New Year’s and Orthodox Christmas), we’re having an Eastern European (aka Russian) theme week! Day 5 of Eastern European week brings us Emma & Ted’s three day long wedding. The wedding featured lots of vodka as a nod to the groom’s Russian heritage. -Becca
Valerie and Noam’s eco-friendly traditional Jewish wedding
Valerie and Noam wanted a traditional Jewish wedding that stayed true to their egalitarian, progressive, feminist, and planet-friendly values. With home-grown jade centerpieces, a blue wedding dress, a groom in an Indian sherwani, and a kosher, vegetarian meal, they created a wedding that reflected who they are and what they care about.
What our wedding was really worth
I have financial guilt the way my Catholic friends have sex guilt. I do spend money; they do have sex. But it’s rare we’re entirely comfortable during the act, and we almost always question ourselves after. I can imagine so many other things to spend money on — good things, things that will last longer, things more deserving, things more logical.

Sharon & Martin’s geeky family wedding extravaganza with fireworks
Sharon & Martin wanted their wedding to be more like a party than a wedding. So they had a quick ceremony at their favorite tex-mex restaurant, Joe T Garcia’s. Followed by a firework filled bash at Sharon’s parents house!
