This wedding in Calgary channeled the 1970s and all its macrame glory
Retro decor finds, tons of DIYed macrame details, and a ’70s-inspired theme were at the center of this wedding’s aesthetic. But it was the love that got us in the end. Sweet and meaningful song choices, a sweet first look, and some awesome dance moves swept us away in Shannon and Andy’s macrame wedding in Calgary. Don’t miss their sweet young daughter in her flower crown, too!
A stunning black dress, tattoos, and skulls everywhere at this chic and dark wedding
Aaron and Kryssa wanted a personalized wedding that matched their dark and alternative style. Aaron rocked his red Doc Marten boots and he and his crew traveled to the ceremony location by bicycle as they love to ride to bikes. There were skulls, ink, deep red details, and a super fab black gown and purple hair.
Just wait until you see their choreographed dance!
This funky and chic Calgary wedding had an EPIC flower crown
This super stylish and chic Calgary wedding had so many personal touches, great music, and style for days. Let’s hear from the couple about how they planned it, what surprises their ceremony held, and how hard it actually is to make a huge DIYed backdrop. Spolier: NOT easy… but so worth it when you see it…
These two shy partners rocked their vintage bibliophile Stardust wedding
I wanted my wedding to have a classic old Hollywood style. Since we are both bibliophiles who bonded over a love of the stars and Neil Gaiman, we picked Stardust as our inspiration. I was inspired by the images of paper moon photo booths, which fit perfectly with the vintage and astronomical themes that we wanted. I'm also a burlesque dancer who can't image a wedding without glitter.
Rock Band, drag kings, and burlesque: this rainbow wedding triumphs
Crystal and Kalem wanted the focus of their wedding to be on major FUN, so that called for Rock Band, board games, personalized crossword puzzles, Mad Libs, a rapper, drag kings, and burlesque. Add in a ring warming, a moment of silence/blessing during the ceremony, a handfasting, and an art gallery surprise from Kalem with loads of art, this rainbow wedding gave us reason to LIVE.
In lieu of a first dance, they had a first Rock Band song, and their six parental figures joined for a family performance.
