Tim Burton meets fire dancing at this twisted black tie wedding
The theme was TIM BURTON. We didn't want a Halloween wedding. We didn't want a wedding specifically themed after any of his particular movies. We wanted our wedding to be a regular, beautiful, fancy wedding, but through the eyes of Tim Burton — TWISTED.
A creative mountain wedding at Zorthian Ranch (with a handmade dress!)
Jon and Jenny are both creatives, and they wanted a hip but relaxed wedding with their closest family and friends. They chose the Zorthian Ranch, which is known for it’s offbeat artist community built by a local Altadena artist.
They had a ton of DIY elements to their creative mountain wedding. Jenny made both her dress AND Jon’s suit. She also made their wedding pie! Do not miss the hot pink and black floral dress, the chic and simple details, and the gorgeous pie display…
A fantastical villainous Candyland sideshow music fest wedding
My husband and I live in and run a House Of Oddities Museum in Pittsburgh called Trundle Manor. We’re used to being surrounded by vintage taxidermy, dead things floating in jars, coffins, and our own art, so the wedding had to be grand enough and weird enough to suit us.
Our wedding cake was a zombified Marie Antoinette head festooned with feathers and candy! It sat alongside our faux wedding cake topped with the taxidermied squirrels we made on our first date in the basement.
I bought a colored wedding dress and now everyone’s mad! What should I do?
I come from a family of strict traditionalists when it comes to everything, especially weddings. I recently bought a peach wedding dress with no sleeves and expressed I wanted light blue hair and Converse to go with it. As you can imagine, things didn’t go over well. When I try to stand up for my wedding choices, I’m shamed for it.
