Crystal and Richie sneak a smooch behind a great Neil Gaiman book. It also looks like Crystal is sporting some literary nails too. I know some bookish brides will love this! We've also got some funky reception dancing, a speech with props, and a Ron Swanson guest book painting. It's a wacky week in reader submissions and I wouldn't have it any other way. Check out what the Offbeat Bride Flickr Pool, the Offbeat Bride Tribe, and Pinterest had in store for us.

and hendrix. Please tell me we are going to see this wedding featured soon?
Sure will! 🙂
looooooooooooooving the back of that dress…and the wonderful *matchiness* of all the green outfits! that was awesome. Makes me smile.
That dance looks like Super Troopers to me (I got a happy)!!!
Yup – my Mum & her two sisters surprised me with Super Trooper by Abba after I watched the film ‘Mamma Mia’ with her two years ago & commented that it would be funny if they did the same thing at my wedding! I had no idea that she took it on board!
Those “literary nails” are Sally Hansen nail strips (http://sallyhansen.com/products/nails/nail-color/salon-effects-real-nail-polish-strips). I wore those exact ones to FanExpo in August and had tons of compliments.
Here’s what I learned:
They’re time-consuming to apply. I did get faster as I went along, but it took way longer than I had expected – probably as long as it would have taken to paint my nails normally.
They didn’t last as well as I had hoped. I put them on Tuesday evening and by the time I went to bed I already had a chip in one nail. By the end of the convention, they were trashed (chipped, peeling, cracked and crazed like old dishes). They may have stood up better over an acrylic nail or Shellac, but I was disappointed with how quickly they chipped.
They were a pain to remove! Yes, they come off with regular nail polish remover, but there’s adhesive under the polish, and that clumps up in sticky globs on your nail (and gets full of fuzz from the cotton pads I was using to remove the polish with). The adhesive does come off without too much effort, but again, it took longer than I was expecting.
I’m not trying to turn people off – they do look phenomenal! But I thought I’d share my experiences. 🙂
They were the Sally Hansen nails, I put on a clear coat over the nails twice and it was easier for me to apply than nail polish (not coordinated when it comes to nails). I agree about them being a pain to remove tho.
