Edré and Riaan are both down-to-earth folks and planned a similarly down-to-earth, small and simple wedding. They decided, in lieu of having a honeymoon, to just extend the wedding to a weekend-long event and spend the extra time with family. This pared-down celebration is a great example of less is more.

I’ve considered a lot of unity ceremony type things — most of them don’t feel like us, although the science experiment ideas are cool. Suddenly one came to me while we were in the liquor store the other day… we could do a unity rye aging ceremony!

These two ladies decided early on that priorities were key and they wouldn’t be going into debt from the wedding. And they were able to pull together a lovely ceremony and dancefest reception (with s’mores!). You might also never guess that the bride’s two dresses and all the dresses in the wedding party were handmade, too!
