Baking beauties: How to make your own wedding cake (and stay sane!)
I recently got married and I made our wedding cake. I love to bake, and I had a little previous experience making two wedding cakes with a friend, but this made it no less challenging. But making your own cake saves you a lot of money. If I wanted a cake like the one I made, I would have had to pay about £300-400.
So here are my tips for anyone who is thinking about making their own cake. It’s totally possible… pinkie promise!
A cerulean hillside paradise wedding in Slovenia
Now that is some scenery. Ivana and Drejc’s Slovenian wedding in the countryside makes me want to run singing about the hills being alive with music. The scenery seriously has me gob-smacked. And Ivana’s ocean blue ballerina-style dress adds just the right amount of fluffy whimsy. Candles lit up Ivana’s and Drejc’s childhood photos and a huge bonfire lit the dance party afterwards. We are so psyched to have our first Slovenian wedding on the site.
Keep pieces of your invitations in a heart-shaped bottle
This was a gift from a guest of Seth and Jerilyn’s wedding. Their thoughtful guest cut up pieces of their invitation and stored them in a heart-shaped container. Jarilyn says that it now “graces our TV, because that’s where we look the most!”
Alyssa & Davey’s fireworks and comic books wedding
Superheroes, NERF guns, fancy lighting, and an epic fireworks show with heart-shaped fireworks? You know we’re in like Flynn. Just try and hold back the goosebumps when you hear what the best man said to his big brother. SO CUTE! We’re in for geeky, we’re in for awesome… we’re in for geeky awesome!
