If your idea of a perfect date is cozying up in a tent or cabin with your honey, you’re going to LOVE Ben and Charlie’s queer camp-themed wedding! Ben and Charlie struck the perfect balance of rustic and refined – camp-themed, but not campy, if you know what we mean. From their handmade decorations, to their photos by the lake (captured by Kristen Renee Photography), to their adorable wedding favors, this wedding is full of inspo for our tree-hugging readers (and we say that with so much love – seriously, please go hug a tree). And this wedding had several special appearances, both on stage and behind the bar… the guests of honor at this ceremony were seriously ALL IN!
This camp-themed wedding is giving cozy vibes
Ben and Charlie gave us the cozy camping vibes without making anyone actually pitch a tent or start a fire, and we love them for that. They worked together to make all the adorable decorations beforehand. We absolutely love that they used camping puns on their table decorations, and the enamel mug party favors are a super fun way to give the guests a memorable favor that’s both on-theme and totally useful. This couple even managed to get a hike in on their big day… Ben and Charlie got ready for their lakeside ceremony in separate cabins and “hiked” to the reception area afterwards. But not before taking some stunning portraits by the lake first!
Every single part of this wedding was carefully crafted by the couple to reflect their unique journey together on this planet.

This camp-themed wedding was full of sweet serenades
Many people would agree that a great brass band can take a wedding to a whole other level. If you’ve experienced it, you know what we’re talking about. But what if the band includes one of the grooms?! That was the case at Ben and Charlie’s wedding, and it was a highlight of the evening. Funkrust Brass Band came out to close down the night, featuring Ben on trumpet. Quiet, acoustic serenades definitely have their place, but we’re also here for your new spouse bringing down the house on the horn with all their buddies! Ben and Charlie also played a guitar-banjo duet together at their reception (and made some adorable chocolate party favors to commemorate the moment).
The drinks at this camp-themed wedding were in fact “your mother’s cocktails”
Mother-of-the-marrier is a special role at any wedding, but the moms had an extra special job on Ben and Charlie’s big day… bartenders! That’s right, this wedding featured a “mom bar” – fully stocked with all the love and mom hugs you’d ever want on your wedding day (and some liquor, of course). We also love these moms’ tip jar… In true mom fashion, Ben and Charlie’s mothers donated their tip to the newlyweds’ road trip fund. Thanks, mom!
This camp-themed wedding made us want to go camping
Ben and Charlie made camping look like fun for even the camping haters with their adorable decor, stunning views, and special entertainment. We’re toasting (maybe drinks, maybe marshmallows) to them as they start the next chapter of their life together! Cheers to you, Ben and Charlie!
