So, there have been posts about wide shoes. Check.
Posts about big shoes. Check.
Posts about shoes that are good for your feet? Well, here goes.
Not all Offbeat Brides can wear five-inch rainbow platforms. We'd love to, but we suffer from Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and/or countless diseases that cause us pain or discomfort. Chronic pain, however, doesn't make us love cute shoes any less!
So, here are some great options for those of us who need arch support!
HELL YEAH!! That’s what I’m talking about! I’ll take the leopard print ones. And the burgundy with the three buckles. And all of the bottom row.
Love love those boots!
I need those purple suede flats in my life!!!
Wow! A far cry from what I picture as “orthopedic” shoes. Love the purpley magenta ones heading off this post. Thanks!
Heck yeah! If Rhianna can buy clarks, so can we!! And Naot and naturalizer too. I have trouble with the fascia on the bottoms of my feet, not just the plantar fascia, but ALL of it, and the pain is bloody horrible. Good shoes are the ticket. The only way I can wear non-good for you shoes is if I drink copious quantities of alcohol. So thanks for the post on cute shoes that are good for your feet!
Sweet! I’m always looking for heels that will be kind to my back.
Oh yeah!! If I had not already found my flat but soon to be fabulous (my daughter is going to bling them up for me) boots for the wedding I would definitely be checking this out. Though I do see ones I would like to have for everyday wear 🙂
It’s not just those who have diseases, conditions or issues that cause pain who can’t wear the five inch platforms or super high heels.
I have no health problems that affect my feet whatsoever, but I still can’t wear stuff like that because even for a healthy person it can cause pain!
(My own shoes were flats – Pakistani khussa shoes)
Or a bride who is 5’10” marrying a wonderful man who’s also 5’10”!
The bones in my feet also seem to start crunching together after a couple of hours of wearing anything over 3 inches anyways. 🙁
Thank you! My back can only tolerate a very weirdly specific heel height. No flats. No 4 in heels. It makes me sad when I see all the adorable heels and know that I can’t even try them on.
Yeah I’ve got a great pair of Frye 4″ heels for the wedding which are as comfy as shoes of that height can be, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be changing into my red patent Danskos for the dancing/rocknroll reception. 🙂
Dear goodness. I can not get enough shoe posts.
BOOSH! THIS IS THE POST I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! What kind of crazy magic do you all have that allows you to find these shoes? Thank you!
I looked at the brands that Foot Solutions carries, and some that had been recommended to me on the Tribe 🙂
Yay! I have high arches but would love to wear pretty shoes for my wedding. This is perfect. 🙂
Danskos are fabulous but a little indelicate for some,
Sofft makes beautiful supportive heels (LOVE these: http://www.sofftshoe.com/Sofft-Fatina-in-Aubergine-Suede-color)
Born’s Crown Collection (available at macys and other stores) is also good, I’m wearing a pair of blue suede “silvanas” for my wedding (http://www.borncrown.com)
Three and six could make me die from the cute, but we’re missing glitter. *Sniff*
Oh, right. I have that glitter shoe tutorial saved~ Nevermind.
Thank you so much for this! Between my CFS and my Fibro, finding any shoes that are comfortable is hard enough. But add stylish? That is impossible. Thank you for thinking of all the kinds of brides there are, like those who cannot, even if they wanted to, suck it up and wear the pretty heels. But I now have options!
I wrote it because I have Fibromyalgia, Desiree 🙂
