Angela, aka. New York based wedding photographer Milestone Images, is becoming a very well-known name around these OBB parts. A few months back she opened our minds with her defense of TTD sessions and she also gave us an insight in to a year of shooting offbeat bride weddings. Now she's back to tell us about another sexy side to her photography biz — her fabulous boudoir photo shoots.
Milestone Images‘ approach to boudoir photography is reminiscent of 1940s pinup girls and the glamour of old Hollywood with a fresh, contemporary twist. The sessions are completely private, and take place in studio, which is located in Angela's own home in Rockland County, (thirty minutes north of NYC).
If you're worried about not having the right clothes, Angela even provides a variety of costume options, including shoes! And lot of what she has fits plus size ladies, she has costumes that run all the way up to 4X. And like Angela says, “Pinup photography is truly an art form that compliments curvy bodies, so it's a natural fit for girls who are built like me. It's okay to be shy; it's okay to have curves.” That said, she also has options for everyone.
Of course you can always bring your own lingerie that you know will be, um, popular with their partners. She also work with a very talented hair and makeup artist who can help create the 1940s hairstyles and iconic makeup looks that recall old Hollywood and vintage pinup models.
All photos are retouched and color-corrected, and come in both color and black-and-white. Clients have the option of purchasing CD of high-resolution images for private viewing, and she also offers a silk presentation box with 4 x 6 prints of your favorite shots — a perfect presentation for your a gift to your groom. 😉
Angela's goal is to create tasteful, artistic images in a private, pro-woman setting for an experience that is, above all else, fun! Now, who wants to have fun and look sexy!?
Offbeat Wed Vendor
This page features vendors from our curated Offbeat Wed Vendor Directory. They're awesome and we love them. If you're a vendor let's get you in here!
That’s my photographer! Yay!
Seriously, though, beyond her exceptional portfolio, she’s a fantastic person. I knew within the first few conversations with her that I could be completely myself and relax knowing she understood who I was and that she’d capture the spirit of our wedding day – and, more importantly, the spirit of my partner and I. It’s more than just good pictures; it’s about feeling good about yourself and being able to trust your photographer enough to relax and actually *feel* your wedding day. I have no doubt I made the right choice in selecting Angie as my photographer. She feels more like a kindred soul than a vendor.
I am so looking forward to finally meeting her and having one kickass celebration.
will she travel to ireland to do a boudoir shoot??!!! seriously – the fact that she has costume options for us well endowed gals makes her a candidate for knighthood in my eyes!!!! so many irish photographers are too… [i’m not actually sure what the right word is… sizeist?] to show off photos of curves in their portfolios which up to now has put me off the whole idea – even though i know my OH would LOVE it 🙁
Oh these are absolutely great, I love the one in the sailor outfit, she looks like she’s really enjoying it!
Oh I’d definitely recommend her to any bride to be, these photos are stunning.
Those are seriously gorgeous. I love that sailor outfit. Everyone looks really happy, which is most important.
It’s good to see some talent in NY! So many of the photographers I love are across the country. 🙁
So wishing I lived in or near New York. I tried contacting a photographer in my area who does boudoir photography but I knew it wouldn’t click since her personality just didn’t seem to appeal and she didn’t get my desire to have my personality come through. This is exactly what I was wanting. 🙁 So jealous of anyone getting to work with Angela!
Love the vintage glamour style and you have got some great studio sets 🙂
Gorgeous!
