Angelica & Arnold’s Los Angeles wedding was a celestial celebration inspired by Mona Megistus from the video game Genshin Impact, and they blended fantasy, astrology, magic, and romance into one unforgettable day. The couple wanted their wedding to feel like stepping into an enchanted observatory, where the stars aligned to bring two soulmates together, and every detail reflected their shared love of gaming, fantasy worlds, and elegant nerdy aesthetics.

It was also important to Angelica & Arnold that their wedding celebrated who they are authentically, not only through their shared fandoms and personalities, but through the community and cultural pride that shaped them. Especially during AAPI Heritage Month, this wedding feels like such a great example of how modern Asian American couples are redefining what weddings can look like, both honoring their traditions while also unapologetically embracing their individuality and creativity.

The day began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. John Eudes Church, honoring the couple’s faith and families while still subtly weaving in their celestial theme through florals and styling choices. Angelica looked absolutely ethereal, with glamorous hair and makeup by Kristie Beaute that perfectly complemented the mystical aesthetic of the day. And how much do we love the celestial embroidery on Arnold's shirt!?

After the ceremony, guests entered a completely transformed reception space at The Odyssey Restaurant & Special Events Center. The reception design leaned heavily into Mona’s magical, star-reading aesthetic with a rich color palette of deep purples, navy blues, and shimmering gold accents. Everywhere guests looked, there were celestial touches: crescent moons, stars, constellation-inspired details, glowing candles, magical textures, and gold celestial motifs that made the venue feel straight out of a fantasy RPG.

The wedding design and planning, created by Fantastical Adventures, focused on creating an immersive atmosphere that still felt elegant and romantic rather than overly themed. Instead of making the wedding feel like a cosplay event, the goal was to evoke the essence of Mona’s world (mysterious, celestial, intelligent, magical!) while still making the celebration feel timeless and super personal to the couple.

One of the most memorable parts of the reception was how unapologetically nerdy the couple allowed themselves to be. They embraced their fandom wholeheartedly while still hosting an elevated wedding experience for their guests. Their décor blended fantasy and sophistication beautifully, proving that fandom-inspired weddings can feel luxurious, emotional, and stylish all at once.

Their wedding also stood out because it represented something so refreshing within the wedding world: an AAPI couple confidently creating a celebration centered around their passions and personalities rather than conforming to expectations of what a wedding “should” look like. From the celestial fantasy aesthetic to the gaming inspiration, Angelica & Arnold created a space where their guests could fully experience the magic of who they are together.

The cake by Manda Bakes featured celestial-inspired detailing that tied perfectly into the overall theme, while the photobooth from Boho Booth Photobooth Co. gave guests the chance to capture playful memories throughout the night. Music by DJ Peace Piano kept the dance floor packed and balanced the magical elegance of the evening with high-energy celebration.

The entire wedding was beautifully captured by Rico Saturn Photography, whose photography highlighted both the intimacy of the couple’s love story and the dramatic celestial atmosphere of the design.

What made Angelica & Arnold’s wedding truly offbeat wasn’t just the fandom inspiration, it was the way they fully embraced what they loved without compromise. They created a wedding that felt authentic to them: romantic, magical, nerdy, elegant, and completely unforgettable. Instead of following trends or expectations, they built a world inspired by a character and aesthetic they connected with deeply, and invited their loved ones into that world for one incredible night under the stars.

The couple bonded over their shared love of video games, TCG, and their fandoms. They were the absolute best to work with, it was so easy to collaborate with them and come together on the planning & design.
