Amanda and Terry moved to New Orleans together, and soon after, Terry took her out for a nice dinner and to the City Park to walk in the sculpture garden to propose. Unfortunately, the garden was closed, squashing Terry’s plan, and instead they spent the night with friends at a local bar, both a little disappointed. Luckily, the next day Terry took her back to the garden, where he popped the question in front of his favorite statue. Win!
The inspiration for their New Orleans wedding was the city itself. We're talking jewel tones, candles, and dramatic décor. Amanda wanted the theme of the day to be “more is more,” (maximalism FTW!) which carried through from the food to the table settings, all the way to her wedding gown. One of our favorite details is their floating cake table that held their peacock cake(!).
Just wait until you see when Amanda took the stage with the band to belt a few tunes!
