If there was ever a photo and video team who keeps us googly-eyed at the weddings they send our way, it's the LA-based superstars of Rawtography. They've captured some truly stunning offbeat weddings including one of the most amazing goth weddings, a natural history event complete with volcano, a wedding at the Houdini Estate, a Muppet extravaganza at Jim Henson Studios, and the incredible seafoam circus wedding of Dick Van Dyke and Arlene Silver-Van Dyke. Yep, THAT Dick Van Dyke.
Ryan and Jenn of Rawtography make offbeat weddings their specific focus meaning they have seen ALL kinds of weddings and situations and won't bat an eyelash at any idea you might think is “too weird.” There's no such thing anyway. They'll embrace everything that makes you unique and offbeat and honor any tradition you may want to keep, too. They're just that rad.
Here's a little from the team themselves so you can get to know them a wee bit better…
We pride ourselves in shooting high quality images that bring out the beauty and fun of your wedding. We believe the artistry of weddings is worth preserving and genuinely knowing our clients is our mission. The search for the soul inside a photograph and the pleasure of knowing the people who share it continues to inspire us to bring the magic of weddings to life.
I'm sold, but maybe you need a bit more persuading to make you see how much of a match Rawtography is with our reader. They gave us a few of their most favorite weddings to share with you. So take a peek and start imagining yourself in their shoes model-worthy shots for days…
Nichole and Michael
Nichole and Michael tied the knot on the famous Queen Mary in Long Beach, California in the heart of the SoCal Bay. Guests and the wedding party rocked the classic retro look, with dapper blue suits, bow ties and vibrant, pink skirts for the bridesmaids.
Danika and Monica
Danika and Monica celebrated their nuptial with macabre style in Pasadena, California. Their wedding featured burlesque dancers during the reception and everyone attended the wedding in full costume!
Jason and Mariah
This Big Easy, New Orleans-inspired wedding theme was incredible. Jason, Mariah, and their wedding party paraded down the streets of Seattle with a live band. Mariah has a voice that can knock your socks off and she performed a set with her incredible band, TUBALUBA.
Rebecca and Chris
This couple's vintage, Star Wars-inspired wedding featured a lightsaber battle, storm troopers and… a photoshoot at a cemetery. Rebecca and Chris took “‘Till Death do us Part” very seriously as they posed with a tombstone for their portraits.
Kevin and Jessica
Lizards, pythons, and camels, oh my! Kevin and Jessica's wedding featured an interactive petting zoo which guests enjoyed encounters with different critters. Jessica styled her wedding look and did her own makeup, then she rode in camel-back to the altar!
If you want every detail and portrait of your own offbeat wedding to be handled with this level of love and care, Rawtography is the safest bet out there. We love their work (and them!) so much that we can't wait to see more weddings of offbeat couples they capture to feature on the site. Be one of them and say hello! OH, and mention you found them on Offbeat Bride to snag a free engagement session with your wedding package!
Thank you so much for this post! Chris and I were honored to have Jenn shoot our wedding and she was absolutely amazing! Choosing Rawtography was the easiest part of our wedding. Jenn is overwhelmingly professional and had the most wonderful eye when it came to taking our pictures. She captured our vision beyond perfectly. We are also so happy to be included in this article, thank you.
The pleasure was ours! Your wedding rocked, and we loved working with such an incredible couple.
