Silver wedding shoes for brides, grooms, and everyone else
I saw this photo of John Legend and I was inspired to wrastle up some more silver shoes for he-foots, she-foots, and anyone else who loves silver!
Friday freakout: wedding wedges [Updated for 2022!]
This week I’ll be panting over wedges. I’m a huge fan of wedges because they give you that lift of a heel, without the stab of a stiletto (or even the wobble of a kitten heel). As always, I aimed for a range of colors (white wedges! red wedges! blue wedges!) and costs (from forty bucks affordable to zomg those shoes almost cost as much as my entire wedding budget).
Betsey Johnson’s wedding shoes just SOMETHING BLUE me away (har har har)
Betsey Johnson might have declared bankruptcy a few years ago, but she’s still kicking! Her line of Something Blue shoes is a nice take on wedding footwear… some of these might lean a little less loud than I typically go, but I’m a sucker for the blue soles with a heart.
Wedding shoes that will never be mine
I knew as soon as I saw those adorable shoes up there in the middle, that I couldn’t afford them. They would never be mine. Normally, I opt out of admiring things I can’t have… but when it comes to footwear, I make exceptions. I like to imagine the fantastical cocktail parties I’d never attend in these shoes, the meetings with publicists in Los Angeles that would never happen, the TED Talks I’d never deliver, and the standing ovations I’d never know. Sometimes, a little fantasy is just fine.
Chinese Laundry wedding shoes
The last time I featured Chinese Laundry on Offbeat Bride, commenters said things like, “I love CL shoes. I’ve had a pair for over 10 years and they’re still SO COMFORTABLE” and “I have a pair of Chinese Laundry boots that I got in high school. They are 17 years old… and I still wear them.” Even if you’re not quite as sold on the brand, you’re going to love the bonus shoe. It might be the naughtiest all-white wedding shoe I’ve ever seen.
Chic orthopedic wedding shoes for comfy feet on your big day
Here are a few options for those of us who need arch support, padded footbeds, and a little more love for our toes. Obviously, you know your special foot needs best and I’m certainly not saying every one of these styles will work for every foot… but these brands all have a solid commitment to comfort, stability, and support.
