Super cute red wedding shoes to make your toes blush
Don’t let these shoes up top fool you: yes, they’re sort of my favorite rainbow-y style, but this post is actually more focused on straight-up red wedding shoes without the orange and yellow. (I just couldn’t resist sharing these guys… they’re not cheap, but they’re gorgeous!) Red shoes at weddings can be a great way to get a pop of color under a more traditional white gown, or a way to take your already colorful wedding into the stratosphere.
Affordable wedding shoes with bows, ribbons, and other femmy details
For those of you new to Offbeat Bride, welcome! Let me introduce you to this thing I do every Friday, where I round up some of my favorite wedding shoes that have been making me drool this week. This week’s theme is a little loose: inspired by these $19 bowed heels ($19!?!), I thought I’d do a collection of affordable wedding shoes with bows and other bits of femmey frippery. Pearls, flowers, sparkles… you know what I mean, right?
Plus, as an added bonus… the weirdest thing I found online to register for.
9 pairs of adorably petal-like shoes with scalloped edges
I just can’t escape the lure of these wavy-lined scalloped shoes. The edging gives them all a little of a delicate feel, without getting full-on into bows or flowers. (And god knows I love those details, too!) Let’s browse through 12 pairs of my favorite adorable shoes with petal-ish scalloped edges. Or maybe they’re not petal-ish… maybe they’re kind of mermaid-y. Up to you to decide!
Glittery boots for wedding days and other ways
Longtime friend of Offbeat Bride Carrie emailed me last week about these glittery boots, gushing “Just imagine the amazing socks you could show off in these boots. Knowing we’re shoe lovers I had to send them to you.” And she’s right! I picture a few Sock Dream socks under these babies, with their sparkly soles and… oh man. Do these count as rain boots, even?
Inspired by these, I decided to go down the rabbit hole of glitter boots.
Darkly romantic black wedding shoes [UPDATED for 2022!]
My shoe posts usually focus on shoes that are loud, or at the very least boldly colorful, or if not that, then maybe wedding-y. I almost never include shoes that are black because sometimes I worry maybe they’re not bridal enough.
But today is Black Friday, so maybe that’s a good excuse to in go black and dark-hearted. Well, but not TOO dark-hearted. As always, this is OFFBEAT Bride, so there is some lighthearted ridiculousness like kitties, skulls, and butterflies.
Singing the praises of Fluevog wedding shoes
Yes, we do love John Fluevog shoes— we’ve featured so many pairs of Fluevogs on the site that we have an entire archive dedicated to them. I’ve been obsessed with Fluevogs since the ’90s because, unlike most heels, I can actually walk in them. You might be obsessed with them for different reasons… because they’re wonderfully weird? Clunky and amazing? Actually made for being resoled and worn for years? Yes, all these things and more. Also, pro-tip: while Fluevogs are on the higher-priced side of things, you can find some amazing deals on eBay.
