Let’s journey to this sweet travel-themed queer wine country wedding
We had a travel theme! We both loved to travel before we met and have loved traveling together. The invitations were train tickets (all aboard!) and the table assignments were a country scavenger hunt of the places we’ve been or want to go together (know your geography)! As an officiant myself, I always encourage couples to decide what traditions work for them. One of the great things about a queer wedding is that you have to do that work. There's no traditional order or distinct bride/groom roles, so we got to figure everything out, from who proposed to whom (first) to who danced with whose parents at the reception. It was amazing.
This wedding in Calgary channeled the 1970s and all its macrame glory
Retro decor finds, tons of DIYed macrame details, and a ’70s-inspired theme were at the center of this wedding’s aesthetic. But it was the love that got us in the end. Sweet and meaningful song choices, a sweet first look, and some awesome dance moves swept us away in Shannon and Andy’s macrame wedding in Calgary. Don’t miss their sweet young daughter in her flower crown, too!
Just wait until you see the chemistry unity ceremony at this stunning wedding in Georgia
Brittany and Matthew’s wedding at The Engine Room in Georgia had some seriously rad elements including an electric car for the ring bearer, a 3D-printed rose gold wedding band, geometric and metallic decor elements mixed with chiffon in an industrial space, and a homemade photo booth. But their glowing science experiment unity ceremony stole the show for us. So much of it was DIYed because the pair is super crafty. So it made total sense to craft up a unity ceremony, too.
Tip a hat to this peacock, cowboys, and cacti wedding in San Diego
Anne and Chad wanted to bring a lovable, fun, and laid-back take to their cowboys and cacti wedding in San Diego. They were married over the summer at a really fun venue in San Diego, Leo Carrillo Ranch, with peacocks roaming and sand all around.
Anne rocked a gorgeous gown while Chad took his outfit to a new level with beautiful embroidery, a bolero, and cowboy hat. This wedding is totally chock full of color and personality — the ring bearer even rode down the aisle in a John Deere tractor!
