A rustic country wedding with an old-fashioned ho-down
Andrea and Steve were inspired by their own way of life when they planned their rustic country wedding. They gorgeously combined a formal, black tie event with a huge family jamboree and old fashioned ho-down. Everyone was encouraged to come with a musical instrument and the drive to rock out. They both come from families who love jam nights and réveillons, so the ho-down was simply back to basics for this music-loving crowd.

Dragon cake toppers, a giant D20, ring bearer teddy bears (who rocked the dance floor!), and a gorgeous traditional Jewish ceremony with a few added elements that made it personalized. This traditional meets geek wedding combines everything we covet. Just wait until you see the battle between Guilder and Florin at the reception!
This Canadian Medieval feast wedding will slay you with its epic battle to the death
A red Medieval gown, golden antler crowns (!!), Scottish kilts, major costume cred, geeky ceremony references, and a giant bride versus groom sword/axe fight that will wow you — have we got you hooked yet? If not, you’ll definitely be sucked in with the pine cone and wooden log centerpieces, woodsy Mario cake, and wee ones in Medieval garb at this Medieval feast wedding.
Andrea & Chris’ nature meets Battlestar Galactica wedding (with ship centerpieces!)
These two are both huge Battlestar Galactica fans, so there were lots of fun references: ship place settings, “so say we all” blessing, and wedding party cufflinks. Oh, and you may need new pants after you see the immaculate glass and wood gazebo-style reception space among the leaves of a truly gorgeous forest.

A surprise wedding is one thing. A surprise wedding with a Star Trek and LEGO theme is another. But a surprise Star Trek wedding planned entirely by the maid of honor?! Now that’s a whole other level of new for us. But when you see the photos, we think you’ll agree that it turned out fabulously.
