This satyr cosplay engagement brings serious magic to our Renaissance-loving hearts
Janee and Bill love all things Renaissance, and in unique fashion, Bill proposed to Janee at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. They also love cosplay and Janee creates all of their costuming herself, including these amazing satyr costumes for this year’s Ren fest. On the opening weekend of the festival, Bill proposed with a gorgeous leaf silhouette ring.
For this satyr cosplay engagement session, they capitalized on all her hard work by spending the evening at Fountain Creek Nature Center, south of Colorado Springs. The pair passed out wildflower seeds to passersby and stole our nerdy hearts in the process. If THIS is their engagement session, what will their wedding bring? No pressure, guys…
This animal mask engagement shoot in Denver brings out our wild side
Stephanie and Justin were inspired to rock a killer animal mask engagement shoot, inspired by the masks of Wintercroft Masks. They ultimately chose a fox and a bear mask, which turned out to be an awesome choice. Justin made the masks out of cereal boxes, tape, and paint and they looked phenomenal.
They and their killer photographer, [heart link="http://vendors.offbeatwed.com/listing/green-blossom-photography"]Green Blossom Photography[/heart], chose to wander around an art district in Denver where one-of-a-kind murals are everywhere. Try not to be inspired to find your own inner animal at your engagement session, too!
Can you invite someone to an engagement party but not the wedding?
If you search the internet for “can you invite someone to an engagement party and not the wedding” you’ll get two answers:
1. HELL FUCKING NO. Don’t be a daft asshole.
2. Sure. Times they are a changing, and some people have super-small weddings, or wedding very far away, and can’t invite as many people as they’d like.
So which answer is it?

When it comes to engagement rings and wedding rings in general, you don’t have to spend a bunch of paychecks on something wildly expensive. I’ve found a whole bunch of super affordable wedding rings with colored semi-precious stones, opals, sapphires, Tahitian pearls, and yep, even a few gorgeous diamonds (and black diamonds!). Let’s go shopping for some purty sparklies that are all under (some WELL under) a $500 price tag…
Vacay goals: This Italy trip doubled as a traveling engagement shoot
Jason and Didi wanted to pair their Italian vacation with a killer engagement shoot with Jason’s sister, Sasha (also their photog!) and her husband. The 14-day itinerary covered a few cities including Milan, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome, and Amafi Coast. Sigh — hashtag traveling engagement shoot goals.
The group stated in a castle in Tuscany, rode in boats and gondolas in Venice, stayed in Art Deco hotels, ate gelato in Sienna, and toured lovely streets and squares. It was a lush and fabulous way to celebrate Jason and Didi’s engagement and we get to see it all! A-wanderlusting we will go…
Level up your game with cosplay engagement photos
We’ve featured our fair share of costume weddings, cosplay-inspired weddings, and even cosplaying wedding vendors, but we will never tire of seeing readers dressed in their finest cosplay. We featured a military pre-deployment wedding a while back and we couldn’t help but single out their rad-as-hell Game of Thrones cosplay shoot at the Chicago convention, Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2).
