Postcard escort cards will give your guests wanderlust AND show them to their tables
Courtney and Kelly had one of those travel-themed weddings that gives us chills and the urge to buy plane tickets. Their postcard escort cards were an even bigger invitation to get out of Dodge and start traveling. At least to their table at the reception, at least.
This idea makes me think of a globe guest book (they did that, too!), so it’s a whole package deal with the travel theme.
These personalized popcorn favors can be food, favors, AND table numbers
You might remember Jensen and Quinn’s #goals brunch drunk love wedding, but do you recall the most wonderful food element of all? We are loving these personalized popcorn favors that could serve as cocktail hour snack, post-dinner snack, table number, and of course, the favor!
Serve your guests from a traveling bar cart
Whether you’re serving champagne, wine, local beers, a signature cocktail, or going for mocktails at a dry wedding, rolling around a traveling bar cart is a pretty rad way to serve the booze. Instead of setting up a bar, have someone go from table to table serving up custom drinks.
Why dance when you can have a “first Rock Band song?”
If you’re not into dancing, how do you have a first dance, anyway? Can you skip it? Spoiler: you totally can. Crystal and Kalem opted to skip the forced dancing, which they weren’t into, and go with their roots: video gaming! Specifically, Rock Band. They rocked it out in front of their guests as their “first Rock Band song.”
Offer a wedding popcorn station for theater-style snacking
Remember Scott and Arthur’s super adorable Castkills wedding where they made us grin like whoa at their antics? There was even more to see. At their reception, they offered up a movie theater-style popcorn station complete with popcorn bags for self serving. Oh it’s so theater-tastic! Take a page from their book if you want to offer a pre-dinner or late night snack to your guests.
Designate a special cup for the bride (and other things I learned on Insta this week)
How’s this for a clever wedding idea to steal: If you designate a special cup (like this R2D2 cup!) for the bride, you can use it to signal to the wedding bartender that if they see someone cutting in line with it… that person is getting wine for the bride! Thanks to @claraganeyphotography and Darci Kim for the great concept.
Now, here are a few other things I learned from Offbeat Bride’s Instagram this week…
