The offbeat bride: Emily, Flight Attendant
Her offbeat partner: Tony, Liquor Store Clerk
Location & date of wedding: Colorado History Museum, Denver, CO on October 4th, 2008
What made our wedding offbeat: Well, my pink dress with gobs of pearls, our best friend marrying us, my Dad walking me down the aisle to “Don't Stop Believing,” the cupcake tree….
… origami and candy centerpieces, BBQ on plastic plates, cans of Bud Light, PBR and boxed wine made for a rather untraditional, funky, classy/trashy ceremony and reception. I loved every minute of it and wouldn't change a thing!
Our biggest challenge: It was really hard getting some of my family members on board with the non-religious ceremony. But most people that I talked to just said, “Oh that's so you!”.
My favorite moment: I think my favorite moment was exchanging rings and making our relationship really official. I was so very happy!
My offbeat advice: I think you should go with your instincts when planning your wedding. If something feels over-priced or wrong for your taste, there is always a different and better way to do it to fit your own style.
Don't just settle on what everyone else wants for you! HAVE A BLAST!
