Corsages made from dried leaves, blueberries, and… Wonder Woman and Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

I've seen a few remixed boutonniere ideas floating around out there for gents — ones with Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc. But what about boutonnieres or corsages for the lady folk?

Well, in the words of Rosie the Riveter, “We can do it!”

Here's what I used to create mine:

Smaller figures get one tie tack. The larger ones get two. I glued the tie tacks on first and let them dry overnight before adding the flair.

  1. That is absolutely fantastic! How big are the figurines and where did you get them? I’d love to do something similar for my table decor.

  2. Fantastic! Glad you like them! ysabelkid – I got the figurines from ebay, but I bet you could find them (cheaper) at thrift stores! The size of the figures varied — from 6″ to 2.5″. The smaller ones made better corsages because they weren’t so heavy! Would love to see what you come up with!

  3. This is awesome! We want to do action figure super heroes for the guys, and we wanted to do something similar for the girls. Did you pin these on the dresses? I’m worried that pins would damage the girl’s dresses. Do you have any pictures of the figurines being worn that you could share? Thanks!

  4. OH MY GOD THESE ARE AWESOME!!!
Can I assume these were for a lesbian wedding? I’m marrying my partner of 16 years in April and may employ a similar idea (with boy toys) and will of course give you a shout out. SO awesome. 🙂

    • Congratulations!!! Well, I wish I could take credit for “inventing” this idea – but I was inspired by others… I just hadn’t seen it with female action figures. Google image search “action figure boutonniere” and be even more inspired!! Would LOVE to see what you come up with, Brent! Keep me posted!
