Yes, marriage is about compromise. But it’s also about bringing the personalities of two amazing people together to create something else wholly beautiful on its own… and that’s exactly what Jen of Weirdo Weddings Photography did with this bohemian medieval wedding inspiration, dubbed “bohemedieval” by Jen. Jen worked with Rebeca and Carter, a real couple, to create this Game of Thrones meets Coachella styled shoot! If you’re stuck between wedding themes, these photos will show you that you can have the best of both worlds. And we don’t normally get too excited about table settings, but this one is seriously a work of art that we can’t get over. Plus, if you're looking for meaningful ways to symbolize your commitment to your love beyond your vows to one another, this bohemian medieval wedding styled shoot might just have some inspiration for you.
This bohemian medieval wedding inspo proves that opposites attract
Here at Offbeat Wed, we’re all about mixing it up! That’s why we absolutely love how this shoot brought in two different themes – bohemian hippie and Celtic medieval – together. The style of this day definitely leans Game of Thrones, but details like the bridesmaids’ flowy dresses and eucalyptus flower crowns and the groom’s paisley vest and adorable hat definitely give it a hippie flair. We especially love the way Carter mixed styles even within his own outfit – a mash-up of Celtic kilt meets dress suit. And it is WORKING, if you ask us! And then there’s the bride… hello, ice queen! We LOVE that icicle crown! A fitting detail too, considering this was shot on a freezing day with 25 mph winds. Yikes! But in the end, love conquers all, of course.
This is a real couple with real feels! 🙂 I dubbed this style ‘Bohemedieval.’

This table setting is winning at the bohemian medieval wedding inspo
Imagine having your first toast as a married couple picnicking at a masterfully-styled tablescape that we are definitely saving for a future vision board. The cool blue and brown tones balance nicely with the warm textures of the plush cushions and fur placemats and table runners. It’s giving medieval feast meets enchanted fairy forest… very on brand for a bohomedieval theme. Also, that centerpiece that’s a flower bouquet, candelabra, statue, and ring holder all at once… GORGEOUS!
You could literally tie the knot at a bohemian medieval wedding
There’s so much more we love about this wedding inspo beyond its blended aesthetic. What's a bohemian medieval wedding inspo without a handfasting ritual! A handfasting ceremony has roots in ancient Celtic tradition (so, still very on theme). In this ritual, the couple’s hands are tied together using a braided cord or ribbon, symbolizing the joining of their two lives together. We love this as an option for couples who want to connect with their Celtic ancestry or add a little something extra to their vows! And because the couple is able to keep the cord used during the ceremony, they get a very meaningful physical reminder of their wedding day to have for their entire lives.
This bohemian medieval wedding proves you can have it all on your big day
Weirdo Weddings gave us a great reminder that we can be more than one thing – and look darn good doing it. Let's raise a jeweled goblet to wedding themes that beautifully clash!

omigosh!! i’m SO GLAD to finally see this amazing inspiration shoot we did!!!! I REALLY loved what we pulled together both in the planning but also some last minute details we had fun with. It was super high winds and we setup a spot behind a giant pile of MULCH to do the ceremony! Thanks OBW!!!!!
