We are Katye & Joe … married photojournalists. We think two heads are better than one. Four eyes are better than two.

We thrive in the moment, and value the originality and adventure of an unscripted wedding shoot. The best way we can describe our work is artistic journalism. Authenticity meets creativity. There is nothing more thrilling than sharing our couples’ anticipation, and telling a story with pictures. Outside of family portraiture, we don’t pose our images. A wedding day is going to be awesome on its own, without us directing the natural flow. The result is a cinematic and narrative collection of images. Honestly, the nicest thing our couples can say to us is, “We didn’t even know you were there.”

How do you cater to offbeat weddings?

Katye & I have worked with couples for over 15 years … yes, that’s a LOT of wedding cake. Our journey has taken us to super-formal weddings in Washington, DC, to beautifully intimate backyard weddings in rural Vermont. One common theme among our clients, and one that certainly applies to our more offbeat couples, is that sense of adventure and celebration of individuality. More often than not, our couples don’t mind climbing on some rocks to make a fabulous picture, or lying in a sea of fall leaves so I can bust out my drone and capture a stunning image from above (I’m a certified drone pilot).
