Shots were taken at Courtney and Matt’s bar crawl wedding shoot… and we’re not just talking about the photos. Courtney was in a wheelchair on their wedding day, so she wanted to get some photos in her wedding dress once she was healed and able to stand. But Courtney and Matt did way more than stand for this shoot… they decided to get dressed up in their wedding attire, invite their friends, and hit the streets, stopping at some of their favorite bars along the way. It was almost like a second wedding reception – one where lots of strangers were excited to buy them drinks.
We love the unique and silly photos that came out of this night (captured by our friends at Party of Two Photography), and they are sure to spark lots of inspiration for how to show off you and your honey’s personalities in your own shoot. And although the evening was, ahem, a bit of a bender, it ended with a sweet and wholesome moment that you won’t want to miss!
This bar crawl wedding shoot is the poster child for personality pics
Why so serious? Don’t get us wrong – our hearts melt at photos of our Offbeat couples on their wedding day looking lovingly into each other’s eyes, smiling, kissing, holding hands… ya know, all the stuff you’d expect to happen at a wedding. But we love how this photoshoot captured some serious personality. Maybe it was because the pressure of their big day was behind them, or because they were in some of their favorite local haunts, or maybe it was just the booze (likely some combination of the three), but Courtney and Matt’s fun-loving personalities really shine in these pics, and we know they’re going to have so much fun looking back on them over the years. We can almost hear them now… “Hey Matt, remember when you said we could do a bar crawl wedding shoot, on the one condition that you could wear your camo Crocs with socks the whole time since you’re camera shy?” (True story. They say true love requires sacrifice!)
You’ll notice throughout this set that Courtney and Matt seem to get sillier and sillier. They are fun-loving, positive people who don’t take life too seriously.

This bar crawl wedding shoot took a local spot from divey to romantic… for just a dollar
Of course, money can’t buy love. But it turns out all you need is a dollar, a sharpie, and a little muscle to create a priceless moment at this wedding shoot. Courtney and Matt’s first stop on their bar crawl was one of their favorite dives, where Courtney wrote their wedding date on a dollar bill, and Matt lifted her up to stick it to the ceiling above the bar. Not only did this make for some adorable photos, but it also left them a special spot to return to whenever they want to reminisce about their wedding day. Who knew a dive bar could be so romantic?
A long-awaited first dance brought this bar crawl wedding shoot full circle
Although the night was filled with silly moments, it ended with a tender one. The last stop on this bar crawl was the brewery where Matt proposed to Courtney. Luckily, the brewery had a live band that night, so Courtney and Matt were finally able to get the first dance they couldn’t have at their reception. Of course, this couple didn’t imagine their first dance happening months after their wedding day, but the fact that it happened where they got engaged made it all the more special – and brought the night full circle in the best way.
We’re raising our glasses to this bar crawl wedding shoot that’s overflowing with personality!
Courtney and Matt’s wedding day didn’t look exactly how they imagined it, but they truly showed us what it means to make lemonade from whatever lemons life gives you – and add some booze to make it more fun. We’ll drink to that! Here’s to Courtney, Matt, and a life filled to the brim with more sweet and goofy moments together!
