Keri & Jess’ Avengers: Assemble wedding
Avengers: assemble for this slightly geeky and slightly traditional wedding of two gorgeous ladies who have a long history of trying to figure out which Avenger they would be. Spoiler: one of them is totally Captain America. Take a peek at the “wife & wife” cake, the handcrafted cake knife and many many flowers, and a sweet little story of one bride and her mother.
The weddings that weren’t
I’m going to a wedding this weekend and I’m feeling just a little jealous.
It’s been over two months since my wedding. It was everything my partner and I could have asked for, in four hours of pure awesome. The professional photos are stunning and capture how was very “us” it was. The wedding I’m going to this weekend is also very representative of the bride and groom — a guitar-themed, tequila-shooting wedding.
But a guitar-themed, tequila-shooting wedding is definitely not me… so why am I having wedding envy?
Sammye & Ashton’s Southern eclectic waterfront elopement
During hectic wedding planning, sometimes it’s nice to just rest your eyes on a simple, meaningful, no-frills ceremony like this one. These two didn’t want to go over-the-top, but rather focus on sweet vows, their nearest and dearest, and their cherubic baby. Let’s gaze at their tiny waterfront elopement.
Planning a wedding while dealing with the emotions of being a domestic abuse survivor
I have gone from being a young bride, to a survivor of domestic abuse, a divorcée, a fiancée, and now I find myself planning a wedding again. A wedding is supposed to be a happy experience. For me, this doesn’t seem to be the case. With my looming nuptials I can’t help but feel emotionally and physically drained. I remind myself every day that “he isn’t my first husband.”
Gabriela & Jeff’s laid-back colorful vegan fiesta
Get this Mexican-influenced wedding in Portland: loterÃa matchbooks, mini piñatas (“wandering asses!”), custom papel picado, colorful decor everywhere, a caffeinated six-year-old, and a couple obviously super duper in love. Don’t miss their ultra-sweet, handwritten vows, too.
Ember & Andrew’s Mario Bros. meets Star Wars game store wedding
A Star Wars Sand Trooper, Mario mushrooms, and some retro styles all in the couple’s favorite game store — this is one geeky fabulous wedding. Wait until you get a load of the homemade Kransekake, their first dance story, and the bride’s lacey vintage-styled dress. Oh, and you’ll get a kick out of what the groom did with their Mario cake!
