The offbeat bride: Jess
Her offbeat partner: Aaron
Location & date of wedding: Western Australia Perth Zoo on January 31st, 2009
What made our wedding offbeat:
- Firetrucks!
- SUPER cute bridal party
- Black/red/white theme… and I mean everything!
- Our wedding video was chosen to be done for free so that they could use us for advertising! (We entered a comp)
We have been waiting for 7 years to get married the way we always dreamed and all our guests expected something VERY different from us. We think we delivered!
Offbeat Bride was such an inspiration to me. I checked for new wedding porn every week! It made me stick to my guns and go nuts!
Our biggest challenge: We were lucky, most things fell into place. Anything else was not worth complaining about to be honest.
My favorite moment: After our first dance, “L.O.V.E” by Nat king Cole we had “Love Is In The Air”… and everyone formed a huge congo line! It was awesome!!
Our first kiss, apparently, went for a really long time. By the end of it my husband and I were absolutely covered in bright red lipstick.
My offbeat advice: Learn to delegate. I didn't, but I wish I had. People really do want to help but they don't necessarily communicate that.
I live just down the road from that boathouse and although almost every time I drive past it I see people taking wedding photos this is the first photo of it I’ve actually seen! I also love the carousel pics! Congratulations!
I love the dress! The bride looks beautiful – and fun, too! The photo on the carousel is great!
The bride (and her dress) are absolutely gorgeous!
That dress is f-ing sick! I saw some of these photos in the flickr pool and wondered. This wedding looks like so much fun. The FH and I have also waited 7 years (it will be 8 years by the wedding date). There’s a lot of expectations when you wait that long.
My goodness! I love the photo locales, and of course – that DRESS! It’s not easy to pull off, but she does and then some. 🙂
HOT!
OMG
I love the dress…. the hat! The venue! It’s all just too much! I <3 this wedding!
Ooooh, completely awesome!!! I love the picture on the carousel!!!
Love it!
SMitten!! Dress = love.
Love it, love it, love it. Was the photographer you used connected to the zoo? I see you have photos on foreshore, so just wondering if the zoo allowed you to hire your own photographer or if it came with the package of having your wedding & photos at the zoo?
