Amy and Dylan's lovely, Australian rustic wedding in Yallingup in the south-west region of Western Australia was full of sweet moments. From the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation donations (including pins for all the guests) to Amy's brother Sam's song performances at the reception to the LGBTQ support gesture during the ceremony, there were memorable moments and details at every turn. Don't miss the bride's awesome undercut hair with gorgeous florals and minimal and super chic decor.
Since couples in Australia are legally bound to say that marriage is defined as being between a man and a woman, they specifically rebelled as much as they could in support of same-sex marriage. Let's hear from the couple on how they did it:
We had one of our friends, Conrad, read a paragraph from the US Supreme Court's recent ruling on marriage equality, legalising it for the entire country. It was a special way for us to show solidarity with our friends who identify as LGBTQ and express out support for marriage equality to become a reality in Australia. To that end, we also asked our guests to block their ears during the part of the celebrant's legally-bound speech which says “Marriage, as defined by Australian law, is between a man and a woman, to the exclusion of all others.” It was really cool to turn around during that part of the ceremony to see all our guests with their fingers in their ears.
