Every week we feature the latest reader photos that have been uploaded to our Flickr pool. (Have YOU been adding your pics?) This week it's all about the excitement of wedding prep in our reader round-up. We have sci-fi-esque Save the Date teasers, comic book invitations, wedding crafts, a cute hedgehog, and even the coolest wedding countdown calendar you've ever seen.
So let's throw our hands (and paper hearts?) in the air and say “Yay for wedding planning!”
Offbeat Bride Tribe member Morganconverse is creating her own brooch bouquet from scratch. And she's clearly doing an amazing job!
Offbeat Bride Tribe member Betherella submitted this pic to our Flickr pool, and had this to say:
We have been working hard on our Save The Date video. We still have a few more weeks of work to go but my fiance made these little teasers of himself and me from some of the footage to give our Council of Matrimony an idea of our vision and to help rally the troops. This is an amazing group of people helping us with this! I can't wait until we can show them the fruits of their labor… oh yeah! And get our Save the Dates sent out to family and friends!
We've featured a lot of awesome wedding nail ideas, but Offbeat Bride reader Rakishlass' hand-painted, comic book-themed wedding nails are beyond awesome. They're freaking KILLER, don't you think?
In fact, custom comic book wedding goodness doesn't stop at nails… George and Tribesmaid Lenabea had their family-friendly, custom comic book-style invitations, made by Etsy seller WeddingLantern. Here it is, in all its glory, being modeled by Lena's super-cute son.
Gaze upon the greatness that is Tribe member "Reenie's" geeky, silly, timely, comic book-style wedding invitation!
Speaking of super-cute modeling… Tribesmaid kristineneudoerffer uploaded the first instance we've ever seen of a hedgehog modeling an engagement ring. And the little guy is doing a FINE job of it.
Offbeat Bride reader Gagabytierney is doing that all-too-important job or breaking in her wedding shoes — these pretty crocheted TOMS!
Introducing the bubble wrap wedding countdown! Tribesmaid breakaleg512 made this bubble wrap wedding countdown for her brother and his fiance. They get to hang it on their wall and pop a bubble every day until their wedding day! They are so lucky.

Hey, it’s my hedgehog! (Her name is Buffy, after the vampire slayer of course.)
That was the picture we turned into our stamps for sending out invitations! I don’t know if you can do this in the States or not, but it’s a pretty cool way to customize what might otherwise be a pretty plain envelope.

Buffy the hedgehog!? M’thinks I need you to submit something about owning a pet hedgehog for Offbeat Home!
I want the hedgehog! 🙁
The bubblewrap calendar is an awful idea! There is no *way* I could only pop one bubble a day! It would be so tempting and torturous!
Seriously though, it is pretty badass.
Ha. I didn’t even think about the torturous part of the calendar! So so right. 😉
Yay! My nails! I agree with Jessica about the bubble wrap. While it’s a cute idea, I would want to pop it all at once!
(I would also like to point out that not only am I a reader, I’m a Tribesmaid :-))
The bubble wrap countdown is mine! I don’t live near my brother and his fiancee, so who knows….maybe they couldn’t wait and have already popped them all 🙂
The hardest part, though, was figuring out how to bring it back home on the plane to Arizona with them after their Christmas visit to Washington! I was so afraid they’d get up high and it would just start popping in the cabin! It made it fully intact, though 🙂
I wore those crocheted Tom’s at my wedding as well, and let me tell you, it was the best wedding attire decision I ever made! They kept my feet comfy for 12 straight hours. Just be careful before the big day…it’s like they’ve got a force field for attracting dirt and grime. I still wear mine all the time, but they’re grungy.
I’ve been thinking about getting those, they are so cute! Glad to hear they are as comfy as they look.
Super cute hedgehog!
I really wanted to upload some wedding pics but not being completely technology minded did something wrong and it wouldn’t let me 🙁
wow i like this
