Ariel is letting me pinch-hit in shoe posts this week since I've been knee-deep in boots… and other puns. I've been looking at tall boots for wider calves! If you're looking for kicky wedding boots but your athletic or plus-size calves make it hard to find boots that fit well, I can relate.
The good news is that there are plus size boots with calf fits of about 17″/43 cm to 21″/53 cm, depending on your shoe size. And if you don't fall within those sizes, there are custom-fit options, too. Bless this post. I have the most difficult time looking for boots!
It just goes to show how many of us need made to measure as we are not all the average size! In fact, in reality who is? It was for this very reason I chose made to measure maternity wear. I’ll be looking at these boots because I’m a sucker for a long boot!

I believe they ship internationally, and thier boots are fantastic, each size coming in three different calf widths – I have two pairs myself, and I love them to death.

I’ve had excellent luck with my doc martens. I have the 14 eye boots and the laces allow me to get the perfect custom fit! I want to get 20 eye boots one day…
Wish there were some more affordable versions (I wouldn’t have even clicked on the studded boots if i knew they were Frye, since that’s way out of my price range) but i guess it’s more of an investment piece.

Are the links only broken for me? I’ve always sworn to wear awesome boots to my wedding, but looking at most web pages just makes me depressed. A couple of these are really cute!
How did I miss this post?? My big calves caused a blister from a pair of improperly fitted boots once that turned into cellulitis and landed me in the hospital. I’ll be damned if that happens to me again!
