Laura and Garrett's yummy pie table was a collaborative baking effort between Laura's mom, sister, aunt, and good friend, Katie. But our favorite part is that their favors were little handmade books containing the recipes for all of the pies!
We've seen mini pie favors before, but we haven't seen mini pie recipe favors until now. Here's how Laura made these books…
Four people made all of these pies: my Mom, my sister, my aunt, and my good friend Katie (who made 15+ pies on her own!). So my wedding favors were hand-made mini recipe books, that held all the recipes of the pies.I designed my recipe books all in Word, and printed over 500 of these mini pages. Then I hand-punched the holes, and bound them with the binding rings. On the inside front cover (not pictured) I added a little gold fork and spoon stamp to each one. Then they were displayed in this vintage suitcase at the wedding.
This was definitely the most time-consuming of all the wedding projects, but turned out so perfectly.
Just think of all the ways you could use this idea: share recipes from any of your wedding goodies, feature yours and your newly-married partner's favorite recipes, or use these as your bridal shower favors.
We love a favor that lets your guests eat, love, then BAKE!
This post just gave me an epiphany!! A moment of pure clarity! My neverending hunt for a favor idea that won’t put me over budget has come to an end!! Hallelujah!
This is the coolest idea ever. Handmade with the right touch of fun.
Eeeep! LOVE this!! I wanted to be able to hand out recipes for the cakes etc we are making for the wedding, and the way these were done look fantastic! 😀
Laura,
Your wedding was fantastic and I was blessed to be a part of it. Your favors were perfect 🙂
Katie
i love you!!!
Laura, if I give you my email would you mind showing me how you did the inside of the booklets? I’m in LOVE with this idea, so smart!
We’re doing little recipe books too! Recipes that mean a lot to the two of us. 🙂
These are adorable! Where did you get these printed, or did you print at home?
I saw someone at our venue doing these and knew we had to do them too!
Seriously, I attended this wedding…This is one of my FAVORITE favors from any event, ever.
Very interested in this idea. Did you print on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and then cut down to size? Is there a template for the recipes or how did you get everything to match up and look coordinated? Great job!
Ahhhh! I want to find a vintage suitcase to display our favors in, and the one pictured here would be perfect! I must find it’s twin somewhere. Or at least a long lost cousin.
There are some really cute blue vintage suitcases on eBay right now.
Hi Ariel,
My daughter is getting ready for her Bat Mitzvah, and she loves to cook and bake. She’s also come up with some of her own recipes, so this is a perfect favor idea for our guests. I would so appreciate it if you could let us know the answers to the questions below about the sizing/templates/formatting, etc. And are you willing to post and/or send photos of the inside of the recipe book?
Thank you!
Deborah
