My name is Tara McMullen-King, and I am the magical creatrix behind Witchy Woman Weddings. Known as the “Wedding Witch of Salem,” I meticulously craft and joyously officiate wedding, handfasting, commitment, and vow renewal ceremonies for unique couples, infusing them with personalized touches. By integrating custom vows, heartfelt readings, and special unity rituals, I create ceremonies that tell a couple's love story, providing a magical and memorable experience that honors their relationship.
I work with local couples as well as folks from across the United States – and beyond – who want to travel to Salem to declare their love and commitment in this unique, historical, truly bewitching city. For those traveling here, I am a knowledgeable guide and a valuable resource, delivering customized advice and tips to help them and their guests plan a fantastic trip to the Witch City. As part of my services, I also offer basic event planning consulting to all my couples, and have certain décor items and equipment available for rent.
While I primarily work in Salem and the Greater Boston area, I am thrilled to officiate all across New England and can legally marry couples in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

How I cater to offbeat weddings
Love is the fire that warms the soul, and the star that guides us home. It’s pure, unbridled magic… and that magic deserves to be reflected in your ceremony! Love is love, and it’s my privilege to create ceremonies that are authentic, joyful, and deeply meaningful. I’m especially passionate about working with offbeat couples and those in the LGBTQ+ community, because every couple deserves to feel celebrated, understood, and safe on their wedding day. Whether you dream of including spiritual or witchy touches, quirky traditions, or simply creating a space to honor your love story, your ceremony will be a beautiful reflection of you.
When you work with me, you’re not just hiring an officiant – you’re gaining a cheerleader, a supporter, and an advocate for your love. My goal is to create a space where everyone feels honored and celebrated – and from the vows to the energy of the day, every moment will be thoughtfully tailored to ensure your ceremony is truly and beautifully yours.
About Me: In addition to officiating weddings, I work for a fundraising research and data analytics consulting firm that has supported hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the U.S. and beyond. I’m also an artist, musician, and a retired performer with the Boston League of Women Wrestlers. When I’m not diving into myriad projects on my laptop, you can usually find me sipping too much black coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts, adding to my extensive tattoo collection, binge-watching true crime documentaries and all the 90 Day Fiance shows, and hanging out with my amazing husband and our two black cats.
I am an Eclectic Witch, a Wiccan Priestess of British Traditional Witchcraft, and an ordained minister of American Marriage Ministries. Within my practice, I often work with cartomancy (tarot, oracle, Lenormand), tasseography, runes, crystals, and candle magick.
And finally – for those of you into astrology who would like to know my “Big Three”… my sun sign is Aquarius, my rising sign is Virgo, and my moon sign is Pisces!
