New Orleans Wedding Photography: Photojournalism with Artistic Flair…
If there's one thing that I have learned in the past 13+ years of shooting, it's that, though weddings do involve countless grand traditions, these time-honored rituals share space with some of the most quirky, silly, touching, and profoundly, uniquely personal experiences that a family will ever share. As a photojournalist, I'm there to capture these moments – all of the things that make your wedding YOUR wedding. Some of the details are elegant…some are fun…some might just be flat-out strange. But they're all a part of what makes you, your relationship, and your wedding truly unique. You put a lot of work into making your wedding a true reflection of your personality. My job is to do the exact same thing for your photos.
So yes, I’m going to capture the heartwarming moment when a choked-up parent turns to see their child in full wedding regalia…I’m also going to get the sugar-crazed flower girl who steals the Maid of Honor's fancy bra and wears it as a hat all morning. I’ll be there for the ceremonial cutting of the cake…I’ll still be watching when the ring bearer starts gnawing the heads off of the cake topper. I’ll photograph the touching grace of the parent/child dance, but I’m also going to be snapping away when your crazy uncle has a few too many cocktails and tries to do the Gagnam Style dance to When a Man Loves a Woman. You love your friends, your family, and your future spouse. My job is to take photos that reveal them as they actually are.
Because, in the end: I'm not there to write your story. Â I'm there to tell it.
