And also, bring on any of the more traditional ceremony elements that have meaning for you. We will blend it all into a fully personalized ceremony that reflects you and your wild, tender, and wonderful love. That is my specialty and my joy, creating unique personalized ceremonies for people who want to live fully as themselves. Your unique personality, your vision, your love story, your essence as people making a heart-ful covenant with each other – these will shine and shimmer in your ceremony. Your guests will love it! Whether you envision a themed ceremony, an intimate elopement, a blending of traditions, I will work with you to bring that vision to life in a one-of-a-kind event. I wish that I could give our wedding officiant, Mary Glazer, from Soul Song Ceremonies, 100 stars. Not only did she write a fully personalized ceremony, but she met up with me and helped me with vows. She talked to me about my fear and anxieties, and she reminded me before the ceremony to breathe and live in the moment. I felt so at ease having her there beside us. I could tell that she genuinely cared about us and our joy. I have not met many people like Mary. She is intuitive and thoughtful and genuinely kind. She happily edited the ceremony to our liking. She was organized and communicative. Several people have told me that our wedding ceremony was the most beautiful one they have ever attended! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! <3 Mary was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with and wrote a BEAUTIFUL ceremony! She wrote the ceremony we hoped for and couldn’t envision ourselves. After the wedding, several guests complimented about how personalized, touching, and fun the ceremony was. We honestly could not have been happier! She was easy to work with, flexible with meeting online and in-person, and delivered the ceremony beautifully. After the ceremony, she sent us a Keepsake Ceremony with the script, songs, and some wedding pictures, which was a lovely surprise! During the planning, we met with Mary to discuss what we wanted as a couple and she gave us both a written questionnaire to help draw out other information that was important to us individually. My partner and I also had a great time sharing our responses with each other once we’d written them, and it gave us another nice moment to reflect and share what we love about each other. We were both amazed at what she was able to draw out and add to make the ceremony very personal, touching, and very reflective of us. We also knew we wanted something participatory during the ceremony and we suggested doing Mad Libs. Mary found an excellent way to add these in! We allowed the responses to be open and the guests had a great time being part of writing the end of the ceremony! The Mad Libs worked out SO well and it made for a really fun addition to a very heartfelt and soulful ceremony. We HIGHLY recommend Mary / Soul Song Ceremonies!!!

Mary was simply amazing. I’m from Raleigh and just got married in May at Beaufort NC. She made it SO easy for us. Really went above and beyond what we initially expected and worked until the ceremony speech was perfect. Service prior to the event itself was particularly helpful, (questionairre, zoom meetings, etc). So my wife and I both agree Mary would be an especially great call if you’re one who gets easily overwhelmed by planning events (like we do). She quickly took all the stress out of this portion of the wedding process by how capable she was. 10/10, highly recommend.

Mary was amazing to work with and made sure our ceremony was completely personalized to who we are. She worked with us every step of the way and did a phenomenal job!

Our experience with Mary officiating our wedding was nothing less than SUPERB! Mary has a wonderful energy. She is personable, professional, and was very accommodating. Mary made us feel comfortable the whole way through and we could have not asked for a better person to have conducted our ceremony.

Mary Glazer (she/her)

You can me Mary. Mary Kay. MK. I am a true friend; a calm, non-anxious presence; occasionally quirky, but really pretty ordinary. I am an ordained interspiritual minister, spiritual director, spiritual direction supervisor, retreat leader, certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®/ceremony specialist and writer. Having been raised in the Roman Catholic tradition, I have been a Quaker since 1989.
I love exploring and playing with all things spiritual – which, really, means all things life. My background includes ordination through One Spirit Learning Alliance, a master’s degree in Spiritual Formation and Leadership from Spring Arbor University; and a BA in journalism from University of Wisconsin-Madison. I once was a television news producer, then worked in public relations for a variety of places, including the Susan B. Anthony House in Rochester, NY.
Fun fact: While I wish I had been named for my Grandmother Mary, I am actually named after the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Authentic connection, belly laughs, reading mystery and fantasy novels, hiking, tent camping – these are some of my favorite things. With my husband Mark, I happily call eastern NC home. We always love their time with their two children, their spouses, and their pup-pups.
