Broadly Entertaining
We at Broadly Entertaining are officiants, planners and coordinators, whose backgrounds in theatre and improv comedy influence our work ethic and style.
Whether entirely secular or including religious ritual, whether short & sweet or filled with family cameos & musical friends, we are thrilled to build the ceremony that represents and honors your love, commitment, and happiness. Our team is perfectly poised to command your guests' attention while shining the spotlight fully on you, your story and the moment at hand, striking the perfect balance of humor and sentiment.
Jamie (based in Austin, TX) thinks there is no greater honor than developing a ceremony inspired by and made specifically for you, and one of Giana's (in the Western Catskills, NY) greatest joys is musically accompanying people down the aisle. Ukulele-playing singer? Yes, please!
We've always been committed to providing our services in a way that honors the principles Love is Love and There is no Planet B. While we're at it, Black Lives Matter, Tax the Rich, and Bans Off Our Bodies. (Why run a business if it means you have to keep quiet about the important things, right?)
We are excited to help you create a stunning, fun, and enjoyable celebration where you can connect happily & healthily with your loved ones. Intimate outdoor weddings, elopements, and big bash celebrations are all on the docket for 2024 and beyond!
Ask us about our day-of and month-of coordination services, ensuring that your rehearsal, ceremony, and reception go off without a hitch.
How I cater to offbeat weddings
Broadly Entertaining is LGBTQ- and women-owned. Between the two of us, we have decades of experience working in weddings and event production. We met making off-off-Broadway theatre in New York and shared several years managing & performing with an indie improv troupe with regular shows in Greenwich Village. Let’s bring some humor and theatricality to your day!
Giana is a full-blooded Trekkie who loves board & tabletop games (current faves are That Sound Game, Hues and Clues, and Splendor, which will forever hold a top spot in her game-playing heart). Jamie has considered getting a Bob’s Burgers tattoo, and has been on 3 separate trivia-based game shows (two of which you’ve definitely heard of). They both love a good crossword puzzle in their downtime, and have yet to meet a housepet they didn’t want to love. Animal-friendly weddings are a go!
We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to bring your real selves to your wedding planning, and it is our honor to help curate a truly personalized ceremony (or reception) to reflect and celebrate your love. That could mean employing cultural traditions from your upbringing (revamped for the 21st century?), developing new traditions inspired by your favorite pop culture moments, or joining your wedding party in wearing your best Star Wars cosplay, just to name a few.
If you’re into paperwork, or just prefer that your wedding vendors refer to their clients without presumptive labels, you’ll be glad to know that all of our forms, contracts, and ceremony templates use gender neutral language, updating with gendered specifics only upon request.
"We cannot begin to express how excellent Jamie was throughout the process. ...Her ceremony had people laughing and crying in the most fantastic way. I appreciate how she took the time to get to know us."
- Catherine R."Giana met with us several times before the wedding not only to go over what the ceremony would look like, but to get to know us as a couple. She crafted such a wonderful officiant speech for the ceremony that all our guests assumed she must have known us for years!"
- Emma M.
