Perhaps I'm biased because I had visible tattoos at my wedding, but I just can't get enough of the inked wedding shots. I love the ways that offbeat brides not only don't feel the need to hide their tats — they find the most gorgeous ways of showcasing their body adornments.
Read on to see a few of my favorite tattooed brides. And if you're inspired, leave a comment with a link to photos of YOUR beautiful wedding tattoos!
UPDATE: This post was written in January 2007 (when tattooed brides were still sorta outrageous), and since then we've featured so many beautifully tattooed brides that I've got a whole massive archive brides with tattoos!
HI! Hey! I got my (your…THE) book today, and it is absolutely Beeyouuutiful! Scott asked me why I’m not published. Heh. I also have a cute inked bride – sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of the gorgeous (made up with sparkles!) girls with full “sleeve” tats.
PPS You have such nice handwriting…I thought my mum had sent me something at first!
Those brides tats are AWESOME! Mine was a bit more subtle…

Sorry for my last comment sans image… here’s what I was talking about (I hope this works… 😉
Oops, sorry: I didn’t realize that WordPress was stripping out image tags. I’ve fixed that now. Post away, ladies!!
Ok, let’s try this again:
Fabulous! I just finished reading your book yesterday and then hopped over to check out the blog and there is a shot I took at a wedding (the first one) right out front. This offbeat wedding photographer is smiling.
[…] wedding cake~ rockabilly style Originally uploaded by My House is Cuter Than Yours. After all this talk of tattooed brides, I couldn’t resist posting this awesome wedding cake. Apparently this delicacy was inspired by Sailor Jerry tattoo flash. Pretty much the most perfect cake ever for a rockabilly couple. […]
I have a slightly bummer version of the visible-tattoo-wedding…
A few years ago I was a bridesmaid to my childhood best friend. She was marrying a very, very well-to-do man with a lot of foreign relatives, all of whom ultimately ended up at some point staring in disgust at my exposed full sleeve tattoos. I became increasingly self-conscious (and angry at myself for feeling that way) over the course of the show, which culminated in the photographer taking great pains to leave me out of the photos.
I pulled a chair up to the table with shrimp on it and ate just about the whole platter, inviting guests to come have a bite with me and shrugging when they turned me down.
Also, it was a seriously fugly bridesmaid’s dress that cost me nearly $300. Bitches.
Hey Ariel,
I was browsing flickr, and found this great photo of a tattooed bride and her bridesmaids. Might be one of my favorites that I’ve seen. I had to share it.
Badass!
And yet another hot inked bride:

[…]Ariel Meadow Stallings is a tattooed goddess and author of Offbeat Bride. I only wish she published over a year ago when I got hitched.[…]
I love these pictures of all the tattooed brides, I was looking for pics of my sister in law and brother, she’s all tatted up and she made her own dress, it was beautiful, skulls and roses on it, chains for straps and my brother had a big mohawk, totally cute, I’m gonna find some good shots I can post. You’ll love them!!
I found this on livejournal in a polaroid community. Im not married but so far I have 11 tattoos and if I were to be wed I would NOT hide who I am. Its like lying to myself or who evers there for that day. You got inked, be proud of it. Unless of course, its something you despise and plan on removing..
I flaunted my tattoo’s at my wedding and had my photographer (who was awesome..thanks Char) take loads of pics of them, i wouldn’t of had it any other way!
