Gender-neutral (and slightly NSFW) wedding party gifts
If you’re on my same wedding date trajectory (Wedding Season 2017!) then you’re probably frantically looking for gifts for your wedding party. And, you’re also noticing that almost all things labeled “wedding party gifts” have “bridesmaid” emblazoned across them in giant cursive letters. Welp, my wedding party is co-ed, and I don’t see my best friend Ken rocking that “best bridesmaids ever” tank top any time soon.
So here are some of my favorite gender-neutral wedding party gifts (that are also slightly NSFW) that I’ve found whilst on my search…
Mom’s my BFF: Should I have my mom as maid of honor?
My mother is my best friend and I would love for her to be my maid of honour. My dad thinks that it’s not appropriate because I “should choose someone my own age” and “the mother of the bride is a role that is demanding enough.” What do you guys think? Should I have my mom as maid of honor?
Gotham city wedding party? This line of formal superhero fashion is killing it with geek chic
We already know Hot Topic is a bastion of geek and fandom wear, and now they’re branching hardcore into formal wear. Maybe you’re going full-on Batman-themed wedding party or just a subtle Batman reference in the groom’s vest? Either way, a little Dark Knight in your wedding can never go amiss.
How to make a one-sided wedding party work (you have a crew and your partner doesn’t!)
When my fiancé and I got engaged, there was no question for me that I would ask my three best friends to be my bridesmaids. That said, my fiancé doesn’t want to have any groomsmen/women. I’ve seen advice about uneven parties, but not about one partner skipping them entirely. Any creative suggestions?
