Find out the secret to Atlanta’s Sarah Gormley’s refreshing and emotional wedding photography
Remember our sponsor Sarah Gormley — the DC photographer that’s all about fresh and honest wedding photography? The last time we talked about Sarah, we were all about her refreshing photography style. This time, let’s get into how Sarah pulls off all these stunningly warm, and natural wedding shots. Hint: It’s all about YOU…
Leslie & Stevan’s roller skating hula hooping pumpkin-filled Hallowedding
Hula hoops, foosball, and roller skates… oh my! This is one game-happy Halloween wedding. Add in the chic lollipop bouquet, the sequined shoes, and the bedazzled pumpkins, and it’s a pretty gorgeous wedding, too. Plus, you’ll never guess who convinced the couple to embrace the Halloween theme.
Julia & Brad’s Presidents’ Day weekend wedding
Presidential fake tats, the Washington DC skyline on the invites, and some of DC’s best barbecue food truck on hand for the noms — it’s a loving homage to this couple’s city on President’s Day. It was also a tribute to some hardcore DIY, including tons of hand-dyed muslin, crepe paper bouquets, and even a homemade cake. You’ll also want to take note of how to totally own a wedding day rap.
A bookish Chinese-influenced wedding with a little Star Wars
Mike and Bernie had their ceremony at a gorgeous church in downtown DC followed by a huge party at Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria. The Torpedo Factory was originally a factory used for making torpedos, but is now an art center, where Bernie had worked. Bernie infused her Chinese heritage into the decor, fashion, and entertainment (Chinese lion dancers!). But these two are also geeks of our own heart and had Star Wars and book-loving details on top of it all.
