8 essential tips for non-binary wedding planning
The wedding planning process can look a little different when a non-binary partner is involved. There isn’t a lot of advice out there, so here are the most useful things we discovered along the way.
Wedding inspo with a short red wedding dress and the best couple hair ever
While this is a styled shoot (meaning it’s a fake wedding), Kendal and Dean are a real couple. The idea behind the shoot was to show the ultimate non-traditional wedding – a humanist celebrant, neons everywhere, the bide wearing a mini red dress+pink veil. You’ll love the overload of color, Vegas vibes, waffle food truck, and the style for days — from Kendal’s impeccable short red wedding dress and natural hair, to Dean’s vintage suit and blond curls.
Our wedding quiet room: making our wedding accessible for our neurodivergent & disabled beloveds
Planning a wedding around issues like social anxieties, ASD, and disabilities can create unique challenges. Here’s how one bride worked with her partner to create an accessible wedding that felt safe and fun for both of them all their guests…
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition (or this utterly bonkers Monty Python-themed wedding!)
We decided to have a Monty Python-themed wedding on the 50th anniversary of the first episode (5th October 1969) as we are considered the biggest fans of the TV show in the UK. John even proposed in front of Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam on my birthday. Just wait until you see the video of the ceremony sketch!
A wild woodland Halloween wedding in Kent with smoke grenades, pumpkins, & an Irish band
Jordan and Conor had anautumnal woodland outdoor ceremony at The Dreys wedding venue in Kent. Once the ceremony was over, guests walked through the woods to an open field where a tent and rustic tin bar were all set up and ready for the party. There were pumpkins, smoke grenades, Disney memorabilia, and an Irish band, just to name a few of the things that Jordan and Conor included to make the day personal to them.
Eloping in Westeros: a Northern Irish castle elopement near Game of Thrones locations
Veregene and Brian traveled from America to elope on the Irish coastline in front of the magical Dunluce Castle. Their ceremony was held in a local farmer’s field with amazing views. Veregene was even taken to the ceremony and back on the farmer’s tractor! Now that’s a good way to travel in the countryside. As avid Game of Thrones fans they were able to journey around Northern Ireland’s famous Game of Thrones locations and take photos in front of stunning locations such as the Dark Hedges aka The Road to Kings Landing. It’s a dream location for any GoT fan.
