An intimate “Up” Adventure Party Leavenworth elopement with gluten-free pizza & donuts!
After we postponed due to COVID, many people asked if we were going to elope or downsize, but I was just so hesitant… I didn’t want to abandon all my wedding plans and dreams. By the end of 2020, I found myself actually considering an elopement.
When I asked Jeremy what he thought of the idea, he told me that all he cared about was marrying me (*heart eyes*) and I felt the same. At the end of the day, that’s all we wanted.
A whimsical & intimate pop culture wedding in Chicago? As you wish
Offbeat Bride’s Executive Editor got married! Catherine and her husband Steven share a ton of geeky and pop culture interests so it made sense to infuse fun references, soundtrack themes, and fandom homages into their whimsical, pop culture-themed wedding in Chicago. It was held at a West Loop venue with a feast, an ice cream cart, a Hogwarts Great Hall photo booth, and dancing awkwardly into the night.
Don’t miss the bride’s custom dyed ombre unicorn dress!
Mawwiage in tights: a Princess Bride meets Robin Hood: Men in Tights wedding
There’s one definite way to get me excited about a wedding: tell me it’s a Princess Bride meets Robin Hood: Men in Tights theme. I am not worthy. Kaitlyn and Blaise love all things cosplay and Renaissance so it made perfect sense. We’re talking groomsmen in tights, two themed dresses and a crown for the bride (one that she made!), elf ears for everyone, and costumes galore including Gandalf, Dr. Strange, and Sonny and Sher-wood.
A rainy fall farm wedding with woodworking details
Emily and Rodney had a vintage-inspired wedding in Michigan with fall colors, tattoos, Princess Bride and Harry Potter cameos, and woodworking details. Emily is a woodworker and made the inlay for Rodney’s ring. She and her grandfather own a woodworking business so they were able to make most of the decor together.
Her uncle officiated the wedding, starting off with a homage to The Princess Bride, which had everyone laughing. She had some Harry Potter-inspired vows which made everyone sob.
