This urban swinger-vibe microwedding had ’60s style, beer, & lots of makeouts
While our other wedding was crafted for children, nature, and our small town, this wedding was built on the pleasures of VICE. We made it plenty sexy with what we wore — a wedding mini dress, nude high heels, Beyonce earrings, and a Priscilla Presley-inspired bubble veil for me; a James Bond-style vintage dinner jacket and Rat Pack loafers for Mike. And after our ceremony, which involved making out with some of our guests (see the photos!).
A quirky retro Moonrise Kingdom-inspired family centric wedding
The previous summer, while camping, we rewatched Moonrise Kingdom, which was one of the first movies we saw together when we reunited in 2012 (we'd briefly had a long-distance relationship in 1996, but went our separate ways and both ended up married to other people). We immediately realized it was the perfect inspiration for our kid-centered, end-of-summer wedding: it's romantic, but also weird, retro, and set in a Maine-like location.
A fancy meets laid-back BBQ marriage celebration in Wisconsin
Ann-Marie and Yasmine were married in April of 2016 but wanted to get weddinged in fancy fashion with a laid-back barbecue in the park kind of celebration. There was a crew of friends and family, great smoky BBQ food, and even sock puppet kits as favors!
During their first dance, they Rick-rolled everyone in true vintage style. Let’s get the full peek at this same-sex marriage celebration of poly couple Ann-Marie and Yasmine…
The hottest wedding ever: a fire & performance themed wedding (where the brides burned their dresses!)
The theme of our wedding was performance. We are professional performers and have lots of performing friends. We had many different performances from Burlesque, Fire, Aerial, Dance, Hip-Hop, Belly Dance, Singing, Juggling, and more.
But the wildest part was that we ended the ceremony by lighting our dresses on fire!
