Alison & Dodge’s skulls and zombies retro wedding
When the “something blue” in a wedding is a big blue streak in the bride’s hair, you know you’re in for some fun. Don’t miss the custom Batman Converse, the retro fabulous bridesmaids dresses, and the zombie references. Oh, and wait until you see the cake they won in a contest! Free cake is good… free AMAZING cake is awesome.
Andrea & Steve’s laid-back Mario-themed budget wedding
Old skool Nintendo details abound in this bright and happy state park wedding. We’ve got a handmade Mario brick block card box, a Mario and Peach cake with baby mushroom cupcakes all around, and cactus favors which fit right into the theme. But it wasn’t all just gamer hijinks: sweet vows and a super meaningful ring made it all very romantic. Oh, and you’ll LOVE this pair’s unity ceremony!
Heather & Johnathan’s nerdy summer picnic wedding
These two had some interesting dilemmas: managing expectations from a very Catholic family and a not-so-Catholic family, balancing the needs of disabilities and the recovery community, and having a super low budget. But we can all learn from this bride’s kick-ass attitude about keeping things accessible and authentic! Plus, we’re totally behind any wedding that ends with a D&D campaign.
Sandi Jo & John’s Neo-Victorian circus sideshow wedding
Inspiration can come from anywhere, but in this case, it came straight from the venue, [vendor-heart link="http://vendors.offbeatwed.com/listing/the-quixotic-world"]The Quixotic World[/vendor-heart]. What once was a low-key tea party wedding became a raucous, burlesque “Gears and Garters” Victorian circus sideshow wedding! We’re talking corsets, hula hoops, clowns, and sideshow acts — all following a sweet handfasting.
