Bagpipes, redwoods, and fiddles at this Big Sur Pi Day wedding
We love seeing couples get married on Pi Day, but Jeanne and Nick took it one step further and had the ceremony begin at 1:59, making their anniversary an even longer form of the abridged number: 3.14159! Jeanne walked in to bagpipes and let her fab Black Milk leggings peek out as she walked toward the ceremony. And then we got to see the first of many photos of Nick’s expression that make me swoon.
Becky & Pat’s destination brewery wedding in Milwaukee
These two live in Boston, but decided to celebrate where they met: Milwaukee, Wisconsin! What better way to celebrate a brewery town than by having your wedding at a restored tasting room? Add in some colorful flowers and bridesmaid dresses, yummy fajitas and pie (oh, and some FAB custom-made invitations), and you’ve got this destination wedding full of beer-loving guests. Just watch out for slippery dance floors — this bride knows how that can go.
Sarah & Mark’s BBQ in a barn with a big bear brawl
Sometimes when you incorporate bears into your wedding theme, it begins Bear War I and somebody’s going down. Thankfully, there was mucho honey favors, tons of pies (including whoopie), and the breaking of bread to get all the guests involved. Plus, the bride has some great advice on what she should have brought to the hotel!
Mini flags, mustaches, and pinwheels: we’re celebrating “Something on a stick day”
The entire Offbeat Empire is celebrating Something on a Stick Day today, so we’re celebrating all things… on sticks. For Offbeat Bride, that means mini flags, mustaches, ribbon wands, pie markers, and lollipops. You’ll also want to check over at Offbeat Home & Life and Offbeat Families to see what they have going on. Let’s stick the landing, stick it to the man, and stick together as we overuse puns and peruse the stuff-on-a-stick archives.
