A costumed royal Renaissance affair with a sword in the stone cake(!)
We love attending Renaissance Faires and have always wanted nice Renaissance costumes, so we decided to have a themed wedding. Our wedding was Renaissance-inspired and we encouraged guests to dress on theme as well. Nearly everyone showed up in costume to have a merry time. We even got to reuse our Renaissance outfits the next weekend while attending a Renaissance festival.
Love + intention: a Wiccan park wedding with a breastfeeding baby as the “bouquet”
I’m a witch, my husband is not. He knows now after being with me this long that I care a great deal about ritual, intention, and love. So, we set out to do everything by hand. We braided our own handfasting rope, we decorated our broom together, we brewed mead together, we painted and created our whole twelve (12!) invitations together. During anything we did, we lit a red candle, and we would hush to each other about love. We would declare our intent.
NYC illustrators create a colorful farm wedding in North Carolina
Daniel and Zoe live in NYC, but their wedding took place in Daniel’s home state, in Monroe, North Carolina. The couple enjoys both illustration and Brooklyn life, so you’ll see bits of both throughout the details of their colorful farm wedding. From the Simpsons details to the donut table to the colorful flower and herb centerpieces, everything was a nod to Daniel and Zoe’s homage to color, style, and serious emotion.
Get your hankies out for the ceremony, folks!
A sea witch elopes underneath a pier with a man holding a guitar
When you see this North Carolina beach wedding, you’ll know you’ve found sea-worthy bliss. A guitar, a bunch of mishaps, and a glam sea witch dress of our dreams… it’s so worth the look. Here’s what April, the bride, told us about marrying Andy, her doggy co-parent… “I know most people are looking for a very romantic story for how we met, but that wasn’t exactly the reality for us…”
