This “Blasian Invasion” wedding channeled films, diversity, and classic NYC
Blasian Invasion! We looked at this as a celebration of the union of our incredibly diverse community. My family is Afroperuvian and my husband is Filipino. Our heritage is very important to both of us, as well as our need for artistic creativity and expression. We wanted to celebrate in our home city, NYC, a place that really embodies these qualities.

New Yorkers Rebecca and Jeff were both looking for a wedding that was low-key, romantic, and fun. This turned into one of our favorite kinds of weddings: an intimate ceremony at City Hall, a pit stop at the bride’s mother’s home for a champagne toast and cuddle with their dog, and on over to their neighborhood slice joint. They ate pepperoni pie at the legendary Joe’s on Bleecker Street, complete with “cake” topper, of course. They finished off the day by carving their names for eternity into the wooden booth with a butter knife (a 100% restaurant-sanctioned activity). This was way more than just a pizza party. Kyle and Louisa aren’t your average couple and didn’t want their wedding to be cookie-cutter either. They hosted their event at one of Brooklyn’s coolest concert venues, The Bell House, and didn’t waste the stage since they’re both totally musicians. The party ended with a CONCERT.
