Betsy & Kent’s polka-dots and April Fool’s pizza party wedding
This week we’re celebrating the tea-length, the mini, and the cocktail — that’s right, it’s short dress week! Today we’ve got a backyard wedding with family vows, Mad-Libs, polka dots, trivia, and tons of pizza. How did these two know exactly what we wanted to see today? Perk up your midweek with this super sweet, family-centric wedding on a Tuesday.
Susan & Jana’s barn dance wedding in the Catskills
A couple of theater kids planned a big ol’ barn dance deep in the mountains with custom koozies, beer favors, paper flowers, a coed bouquet toss, and a furry ring bearer. Add in a shared cupcake “cake cutting” and some extra heartfelt speeches, and everyone will be in love with this love. Just be warned if you’re planning a mountain wedding: cell reception may be sparse!
An intimate rustic fall outdoor wedding
Handmade bunting, loads of fabric streamers, a first dance right after the tearful ceremony, and some out-of-this-planet scenery make this rustic and rainy wedding a sight to see. You’ll definitely want to see the little note the bride left for the groom before the ceremony, too. Oh, and we learned that when you don’t have an umbrella, a unicorn mask works in a pinch.
OPEN THREAD: Would you have a weekday wedding?
My love has his mind set on getting married on a weekday – that is, on the day of our 5 year anniversary, the 1st of April, 2014. A FREAKING TUESDAY! Would you have your wedding on a weekday? Would you, as a guest, attend a wedding on a weekday?
Barbara & Don’s eclectic LA gallery wedding
A 12/12/12 wedding at noon?! That’s some memorable date. Plus, since it was a Wednesday, this pair combined the magic midweek wedding with a daytime wedding for budget-friendly bliss. But there was no shortage of style here. The bride described the gallery ceremony space as “an eclectic mix of old and new with a hint of creepy.” Sounds like a fab combo, and once you see it, you’ll agree. Oh, and wait until you hear how the bride handled a touchy tattoo subject with her conservative family.
Karly & Jack’s vintage-inspired Alice in Wonderland wedding
Vintage book centerpieces, Alice in Wonderland details all over the joint, a vintage-style dress, and a butterfly cake (and bouquets!) make us salivate over the little things in this wedding. A drop-dead gorgeous venue sure didn’t hurt, either. Plus, there are total lessons to be learned about having your partner help in planning and dealing with a venue coordinator. Look and learn!
