Don your disguise for this planetarium masquerade wedding
Stacy and Mikey were married under the stars at the Michigan Science Center, with an elaborate masquerade ball reception held at the Crofoot Ballroom two weeks later, on October 30. Masked guests were entertained by the Detroit Circus Company’s flame throwers, stilt walkers, contortionists, and trapeze artists. Just wait until you see Stacy and Mikey’s reception garb and makeup — it is seriously a sight to behold. Let’s check out the gorgeous ceremony and wildly-coiffed reception of your masquerade dreams.
A real elopement turned romantic Winter styled shoot bliss
Real life couple, John and Stephanie, eloped on New Year’s Day and didn’t get any photos taken. Jessica of M&J Photography put out a call for a couple to join her on a killer styled shoot, so it was a win-win to get this gorgeous pair photographed. They had all hoped for a romantic Winter styled shoot with snow, but rain was on the menu which still looked AWESOME. You’ll super dig the pink cake, garden setting, and my fave, the floral gown + black veil combo.
Vintage lovebirds and hanky invites at Liz & Kim’s wedding
This is one DIY wedding where the decor truly is king. You’ll adore the vintage bird details, hanky invites, newsletters for guests, handwritten programs and kids activity books, and a same sex wedding FAQ to answer any lingering questions for guests. The barbecue menu and barn venue just add the right amount of awesome to an already spectacular day.
Detroit brass bands and barbecue at Leah & Stephen’s musical wedding
If you don’t know how cool Detroit can actually be, this couple is going to school you. They brought in amazing local BBQ, pies, local farm-created salads, and of course, Detroit brass bands at both the ceremony AND the reception! You’ll love the floral dresses, ribbon wands, piñatas, and the general splendor of a wedding full of music and dancing.
